HI All,

I am new to the gaming scene and am wondering if anyone out there is using a powered USB hub for extra USB 3.0 ports? (Looking at the Powered j5Create 7 USB Port Hub). There is not a lot of information out there on this topic and thought i would ask before making the purchase. Essentially i would just like extra USB ports instead of using anything on my laptop or my monitors. I have the below peripherals along with the Razer Core v2. Thank you!

Razer Core V2
RTX 2080
X2 Dell U2718Q Monitors
Huntsman Elite Keyboard (2 USB's to insert)
Mamba Wireless Mouse (USB Dongle)
FireFly Chroma Mouse Pad
Nommo Chroma Speakers

Theoretically it can, Razer Core v2 use second TB3 controller to host i/o ports but it’s limited to 5gbs bandwidth so putting a lot pheriperals may limited it and bringing disconnecting issues, but if your usb hub has it own power it may help as some core v1 users with no secondary TB3 controller reported that the disconnecting issues can be solved by using dock with its own power delivery and helping gpu data transfer stable since it was mixed with io ports on first gen Core.
I tested that on Blade 15 TB3 with Core v2 and didn’t try on usb hub that has power delivery and with too many pheriperals comes the issue, it may be also due TB3 on Blade 15 and its pch controller not quite sure since I’m not investigating it further. Currently I use BWX Te, firefly, Xbox controller and 2.5 hdd for my games on core v2 io ports, nommo chroma and lanchead dongle I slot on right side free usb A ports on Blade 15.
