Razer Core X Problems

I recently got a Core X for my Razer Blade Stealth 2016 i7-7500U together with a MSI RTX 2080 Super. Upon setting up the card in the core and installing all updates to Windows, Intel drivers, BIOS and Firmware, and eventually even reinstalling the Thunderbolt software, the Core still won't connect properly to my laptop.

When plugged in, the Stealth recognises the core for about a second, then it disconnects and the core + GPU begin to cycle down (lights on GPU turn off, fans begin to slow etc.). A second later the core reconnects, everything lights up and starts spinning again and the Thunderbolt program can see it - until, once again, it loses connection and the core + GPU powers off.

Eventually the Core + GPU will stabilise and remain on, however at this stage the stealth is not recognising the core at all, and appears to merely be powering the box, nothing more. The fans on the GPU are running at full throttle, and it will remain like this until I manually turn it off.

It should be noted that I have also tried to install the NVIDIA graphics drivers for the 2080 S, however the install program reports a couple of errors. One is that there is no compatible GPU detected, the other that the driver is not supported by the current version of Windows.

I have even factory reset my PC (there wasn't anything on it to begin with) in the hopes that it may clean the system. However, all the above issues still persist.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: I've since removed the GPU from the core to see if it was the card that was playing up, but all the problems remain the same. The Stealth still connects for a couple of seconds, then disconnects, then repeats.

Hey there! Thanks for posting this on our Support thread. Please send me a PM together with your Razer Blade Stealth and Core X Chroma's serial number. Let's continue from there.
