In fact, it somehow makes me lag a bit more. Is there a way to optimize it so it actually works for me?

If you have a nice clean PC without a lot of background programs that use ram, and occasionally do a disk cleanup and defrag on your own, then Cortex won't be able to do much else to help you.

I observed lately that it cause GPU usage increase around 30% with no FPS benefits.

Cortex on pc and mobile will disable unnecessary process to maximize the performance, I tried that on previous Blade 14 and current Razer Phone 1 since it’s default setting on it, works fine. But on Blade since it’s already powerful, I don’t need more FPS if GTA V already hits 100fps. You’re using rtx 2080 Core Setting right? I don’t see the need to get more performance, the lags may because laptops cpu bottleneck it, not Cortex imo, it’ll happen on some titles, and on ultrabook cpu FPS drops may be noticeable since it won’t hold long in peak frequency like gaming laptops or desktop cpu with higher tdp.
