Razer Cortex goes black screen after launching it

Hello,

I have been using Razer products and software for a year and I updated the Synapse and Cortex recently.

Unfortunately for me, Razer Cortex goes black screen and freezes after launch.
Synapse is looking fine.

Here my info (desktop pc):

  • AMD Ryzen 5 3600X 6-Core Processor 3.80 GHz

  • Windows 11 Pro 22H2 ‎13/‎05/‎2022 22621.160 Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22632.1000.0
  • Razer Cortex 10.0.251.0

Could you help me about that issue? (I think it may be about some permissions, administer rights or block from Windows Defender, etc. The best solution could be reinstall Windows maybe, at least.)

Before we figure out a resolution, please uninstall Razer Cortex and install it by downloading the newest version here: https://www.razer.com/cortex

Please let me know if this issue persists.

Hi,

I uninstalled and reinstalled Cortex again via your link. Unfortunately, that did not work.

But, for your information, I haven't touch anything like register files, etc.

I have sent my log in PM as you asked, and this log were taken when Cortex was running after its installation via your link.

After hours of screaming and yelling I discovered that the game was being started by Razer Cortex, and that the overlay was selected. All I did was deselect the "enable cortex overlay" for the game and the issue completely resolved. If you have Razer Cortex, and are having this issue, it may be worth looking omeglz into!

Hi all !

I have done the last solution I have and reinstall Windows 11 with a clean set up, deleting all data, files and folders, etc.

And it works.

Muchas gracias for all your effort and just in case, if you want to see my logs on my pc to compare with previous installed Windows, let me know.

We found that this black screen issue occurred on Win 11 OS. Currently, we could not reproduce it on our side even though we tried to reproduce it many times. Please try the below methods and see whether the issue can be fixed:

Regarding the Razer Cortex black screen issue, could you please turn off your HDR for Display in Windows 11, then, launch Razer Cortex to give it a try?

Here is a guide for you to turn off your HDR for display.

I have the exact problem, tried re installing from website's newest version but that didnt help.
Edit: Turning off my HDR did the work and it's fixed now.

Exactly !

I agree with my friend above; when I turn off Windows 11 HDR, it works. Something blocks that appearently.

Also, gamebooster is not activeating automatically, when the game runs (from steam). Not sure I need game booster actually and razer cortex applications ...
