Razer Cortex signs me out?! (Mobile)


Using the Razer Phone 2 with all current updates and yea..today I noticed Razer Cortex just won't let me stay signed in for longer than a second. Can login to themes on my phone and it's fine. Soon as I go into Cortex it just signs me out automatically. Went on the PC to login and tried the logout of all devices option. Didn't work either. Anyone else having this issue?

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this issue, started yesterday logging me out after playing games, now today I can not see any games.
So I'm thinking it's account related because I tried logging in on my old Samsung S7 and my girlfriend's Samsung S10 and I get the same issue. Logs in for about a second.. Long enough to see my Avatar and then logs me out before I can do anything. Rolling back to the old version crashes the app entirely for me.

Come on Razer.. how are you supposed to get people to use your app when it doesn't work on your own phone? Hope this gets fixed sooner than later.
I've had the same issue logging in from today only. Today is when I updated and noticed that the update fix was for a previous bug of this exact problem. The other phones may be fixed niw but it seems just have simply moved it to other handsets somehow

It's sad to hear about this, has anyone has made a ticket to the Cortex support about the issue?
Yeah I've tried everything besides a hard reset on my phone which I don't think will fix my login issue since I tried logging in on multiple phones with the app.

It's weird that I can log into themes app but not cortex. Still think it's account related like it's failing some kind of prerequisite or permissions so it logs me out automatically.

I've already linked my email to my Razer devices so I don't think I can just make another account but hopefully this gets resolved! I made a support ticket in the software section but wondering if I should've done it on the mobile section? Probably will do that in a few just to make sure someone is looking at this.

I have been lucky as cortex is pre-installed on my phone so it can only be disabled. I'm using android 9 OS

A workaround that has helped me is this. I disabled it, cleared the cache and data. Enabled cortex again but didn't update this time.

That has worked for me but only allows me to sign in. I can't use any features except my game library or it crashes.

I've to wait for an email to see if they can solve it

Thanks for trying to help me out. I tried rolling back to the original version on my phone and it didn't work. It actually crashes the app instead of logging me out. I also have a Razer Phone 2 and Cortex is pre-installed into the phone. I cannot uninstall it, but it'l rollback to the original version that was installed.

I tried clearing the cache, force closing the app, using the old version, re-updating, logging in from 2 different phones that never had cortex installed, logging into PC and forcing all devices to logout from Razer website, downloaded Cortex for PC logged in just fine on the PC but still no dice for the app on my brand new RP2. Tried all this on my network at home and off my network using Verizon. Still not working.

There has to be something causing it to force me to logout. Only thing I can think of is I updated a few games the same day I noticed the logout issue. Sometimes I open games from the app list instead of thru Cortex simply cus I'm not used to using a game launcher on my phone yet. Shouldn't make a difference right?

Update: I tried using the chat support and they gave me a dummy account to try out which works. The customer service rep recommended I make a new account (new email and username ugh) and having my old info merged to the new account. I guess it takes a while to do since they have to escalate this to someone else.

I hope this works since I logged in thru the google option usually..I guess I won't be doing that anymore? My google info doesn't use this new email so will their be conflicts on my games? Is there a way to add an alternate email in my google play account? Maybe after the merge my old account will be officially deleted and I can just recreate it and not mess with my play account? Meh...technology these days.

You should probably delete the test account info. Or if a mod finds this first hopefully they do it lol.

Anyway I found a fix I think. Disconnect the link between your social media accounts and your Razer account. Wait a few hours (I took a nap lol). I go back into cortex on my phone and login normal not linked to the social media options. Boom it worked.

Something to note...it did not work right away cus I tried immediately after disconnecting my Google account and I still had the auto logout problem.

I just re linked my Google account with my Razer account and everything appears to be working fine so far.
It kept me logged in for a few hours then I woke today to find that it's happening again so I'm needing to use the test account for now

log into Cortex
then go over to Theme Store and launch it (make sure it's a launch and not just bringing it from the background)
it might say "Continue" which is fine, but then go back to Cortex

I can login to themes and it keeps me logged in. When I then go to cortex. I am logged in but it instantly logs me out of cortex and themes. I then need to start again as I'm not logged into either
Yea I got it to work yesterday somehow after escalating the situation on chat support. The only thing I did with them was disconnect the link between my google account and razer. I passed out for a couple hours and huh it worked.

Unfortunately, it only worked for a few hours tho. The problem resurfaced and now I'm back to square one.

I get automatically logged out of Cortex every time I try to login. I can see my avatar load up and before I can do anything I get signed out. After getting it to work yesterday I did re-link my google account. I disconnected it again and waited. Still no dice.

Something new I noticed was the Twitch login option crashes and force closes the app every time.

Using RP2 with all updates. I can use Themes app just fine. Login works. It even logs me into Cortex, but when I go into Cortex I'm kicked immediately. Tried using Cortex on an S7 and S10 and I get the same auto-logout issue...soon as my avatar pops up I get kicked.

A funny thing to test would be to login to Themes and find out which games offer silver without going into cortex obv and see if my silver increased. I don't care about it too much but I am off work today...but I'm going off topic.

I can still use game booster at least and all the games are working fine. The only bummer is maybe losing a bit of silver since I can't try those games to get credit for them.

Chat support and my ticket for support I put in a couple days ago both suggest that I just create a new account and then merge my current info over to the new account. I feel like this is a weak solution and might just wait until the release another update. At the same time I'm kinda over trying to figure this out and want it to just work lol it's only annoying because I just got my RP2 on the 19th last month. It's brand new to me still. I get a new razer phone but can't login to my razer account? Just leaves a bad taste in my mouth or whatever.

Okay if you can reproduce the issue can you all please let the issue happen and then take a bug report and PM it to me? That way I can pass it on and see if they can find out what the issue is.
How do you get a bug report on the Razer Phone 2? Sorry, only had the phone a week so still learning the ins and outs

You turn on developer mode in the settings. In the developer options you can choose to make a bug report or press the power button long enough and an option shows up I think I forget..

As an update to this thread I've been able to login to Cortex now for more than a day. I gave up trying a while ago but I kept getting notifications from the Theme store for some reason. "Theme store checking pending installs."

I noticed it a few times before but never paid any attention to it until a few days ago. I never use the themes so I just disabled the app. Opened up Cortex after and wow..didn't get auto-logged out. This doesn't really make sense to me since I tried Cortex on multiple phones that did not have Themes installed. Maybe because I was logged into Themes on my RP2? I dunno and don't care to try and figure it out anymore.

Another problem with the phone was it would not charge either on the RGB wireless or thru the USB-C port. When I placed the phone on the wireless charger it would glow and act like it was charging, however it was not. When I noticed this I plugged it into the wall charger and I get a USB notification. I click it and it takes me to connection settings with the USB which control what happens when you connect a device to the USB-C port on the phone. It's suppose to stay on 'This Device' for control. Everytime I click on it it just hangs or tries to switch and sometimes it'll tell me it failed to switch. Great. I'm just under owning this phone for 30 days lol.

I had developer options on when this happened. Here's what I did to 'fix' it but I'm still worried. I disabled the developer options. Restarted the phone. Plugged it into a wall, no charge. Notification for USB connection again, clicked it and chose 'This Device'. It switched and instantly started charging! Removed and re-added the wireless charger in the Chroma App. I then plugged the phone into my PC to try and test out data transfer and check things out. Everything working fine...for now.

Love this phone and I don't want to give it up, but I'm having second and third thoughts about keeping it.
