Razer Gaming Chair?

  1. Should Razer make gaming chairs? I was thinking about this because I was looking into gaming chairs to complete my setup and I thought it would be great to have one with Razer branding and colors since I already have a 2013 Blackwidow, 2014 Naga, Kraken Chroma, and Goliathus control extended. Do you think Razer should make a gaming chair? Or should they team up with a company like DXRacer to make a Razer edition chair, like what they did with the NZXT S340 Razer edition?

that would be so amazing, its one of the few things that I don't have a razer version in my setup.

That would be awesome, I'm not sure how pricey it might be if they were to make their own though, so sticking with an edition of a DXRacer might be the smartest

Dont think it makes commercial sense. Stuff like chairs takes up a lot of inventory space. If they do really make it, it will cost you a bomb, for sure.

I want the back of the seat to have chroma strobe lights that pulse to the beat.

I don't think Razer should make their own gaming chair, it would be better to have a partneship with DXRacer or something similar :)

I agree on inventory storage. On top of that Razer does more online sales than retail and gaming chairs would be obnoxious on the shipping charges. Probably not a good fit for them. I'm also not sure the market is huge for them.

Yea I that makes sense. I would support a partnership between them and DXRacer to make a chair. All it would have to have in my opinion is their colors and logo on it and I would love it.

I wonder if they can fit 2 leviathan speaker into the sides of the chair, i wonder how cool is that

I agree with @ChaosViperSC2. Just like they have a partnership with Gunnar (eyewear) and NZXT (desktop case).

Probably not leviathans, but the Mini should fit in there :D
That would actually be awesome for Surround sound!

Yeah man, especially 7.1 surround. Maybe like Cinema Dolby 7.1 Surround type would be cool. RIP Cinema if this were to come out

I dunno. I tend to think a chair is a chair is a chair. Unless if you have tons of research and development behind your product like Aeron chairs, I feel like gamer or racer chairs are more show than substance. Razer might not be ready to branch out that far yet because chairs need to be built for comfort and especially durability (many of us load 140+ pounds onto them for 8+ hours per day). Look what happened when they branched out and did wearables ie Nabu - durability issues.

I think there are products that make more sense for them to make right now. Gaming monitor anyone? And how about a hybrid 2-in-1 gaming device? They have already made a gaming tablet (Edge), a gaming laptop (Blade), and a gaming Ultrabook (Stealth). Put all that expertise and experience together to combine them into one product like the Microsoft Surface.

Very well said, and I couldn't agree more! I know that some chairs are comfortable enough to game in for hours upon hours and they just look AWESOME - therefore, they are the favored chairs. However, that doesn't mean they truly have what a chair needs to support the body correctly and care for our systems accurately.

Doesn't mean they're not cool, and it doesn't mean they won't do the job and be mostly comfortable while doing it ...

More directly, in regards to Razer making stuff like chairs, phones or whatever else - I'd rather they stick to the gaming peripherals where they won't need to partner up with someone else, or where they won't just be a Razer branded item of something that another company is already making. I want their stuff to be original and uniquely theirs.

Yes! I mean I'm not opposed to "gamer chairs," I guess it's just that the ones currently out on the market don't interest me much. I don't like the "Racer" ones because I don't find racing to be synonymous with gaming.

But if Razer were ever to make one, I'd want it to be made right. I'd expect the same amount countless hours of user testing and prototyping they poured into perfecting the ergonomics for their other products like the DeathAdder. I mean Aeron chairs don't cost 600 dollars for no reason! They're supposedly the world's most comfortable, most ergonomic chairs. If something like that existed with Razer's unique aesthetic, I'd have to buy it. When you think about it, the parts of a PC setup that get the most use are 1 - Your Monitor and 2 - your Chair. Both may have an impact on your health, so I feel like spending a bit more to get a nicer chair or screen is justified.

As for working with other companies, I agree as well. Razer tends to form some weird partnerships like with Boutique Race Car manufacturer Koenigsegg and the lesser known smartphone startup, OnePlus. Not sure how I feel about their partnership with Lenovo either. They should definitely stick to their core because that's what they know and do best.
I think Razer does their best work when they do it alone.

It might need a usb to sync to synapse for the chroma effect.

That's a really cool idea, but yeah I think it would be cool if they made there own chair or worked with dxracer to make something like that. I don't really know what all they would do with it but can never have to many snake logos with PC setups

Aw man. That would be a really cool idea for Razer to make their own chairs. But I think that they shouldn't. It reflects on who they are and how they represent themselves. I dont think Razer wants people to see them as people who specialize in making gaming chairs....
