Razer Headphone Beeping **FIX**

Hey All,

I have seen a lot of complaints relating to Razer headphones beeping/disconnecting/reconnecting constantly - I managed to finally put this problem to bed recently and it took a bit of experimenting but I think I nailed down some of the key issues:

  • Wireless Antennae - if your PC is using WiFi and you have antennae for it on the back of the machine you are in trouble! Connecting to a 5Ghz WiFi channel made the problem less persistent but it didn't go away for me. If you're hooked into the ethernet but your PC supports WiFi try turning WiFi off completely. In general WiFi signals seem to cause issues here.

  • Bluetooth - Again if you have a bluetooth radio integrated turning it off completely made the problem less persistent but didn't completely fix the issue for me.

  • Other Razer Devices - if you have other wireless Razer devices position the dongles as far away from each other as possible - I had mine right next to each other. Once I did this the problem disappeared completely alongside the other "fixes" above. This advice may also apply to other wireless devices Razer or otherwise.

Ultimately as a more permanent solution I wired a 4x USB Hub all the way around to the other side of my desk with the 2 dongles (headphone/mouse) facing outwards and in opposite ends of the Hub. I can now enjoy a clean audio experience and keep on using WiFi/Bluetooth. I am yet to hear the dreaded beep since doing this.

NOTE: Using my USB hub I positioned the headphone and mouse dongle next to each other and the beeping and problems came back instantly so I think this is a real winner!

Consoles: I haven't used any of my devices with consoles but I suspect some of the issues here apply there, you can get USB hubs for all modern consoles and I recommend trying to push the dongle away from the console (and probably far enough away from your router as well if they live close).

** DISCLAIMER ** I have no affiliation with Razer and no true scientific evidence for my claims here, I just trial and error'd my way through a problem and thought some of the things I found would be of use to somebody.

Hey, I'm having the same problem. Will try these solutions now. Any update on whether the fix still works?

I haven't experienced the issue since I posted this so for me at least this was permanent.

If it doesn't work for you there is a possibility your dongle is broken, Razer Support has a utility that will re-flash them if it's a software fault so that could help though many in these forums say the re-flash hasn't worked for them...

Less likely but still possible is that your dongle was DOA and you'll need to send off for a new one or something like that 😞.

Good luck and glad this helped at least some people!
