Razer Huntsman Elite firmware made the wrist rest start flickering


Hey guys, so after I just updated my keyboard's firmware the wrist rest's RGB's started flickering randomly. I know it's connected properly and I never had this issue before until I updated the firmware. I've disconnected and reconnected the USB and uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers but the issue still persists. Is there a way to roll back to a previous driver? Thanks!

I have the same problem. Was working fine yesterday and for the past 4 years, but now, a problem. Sometimes the flickering changes the colours in an instant to rainbow.

I have exactly the same issue, any advice? fix? with previous firmware it was working fine. So it is definitely the rootcause. I tried also to reinstall drivers etc. completely.

edit: opened ticket with assistance of online support, provided all the data. Unfortunately downgrade is not possible according to them. So hopefully it will be resolved soon

Hello everyone, it seems that it is possible to downgrade the firmware. To any of you having issues as me, have a look on this thread.

Today i got response to my ticket ... based on every troubleshoot and video recorded they claim that it is malfunction of some part. LOLOLOL .... told them many times already it is after this screwed firmware upgrade. Yet they told me anyway it is broken and downgrade not possible and i am out of warranty so i can go and buy new one 😃 😃 😃 and here is 15% discount ROFL. I must say, capitalism at its best.

I am now replying to them that i downgraded the firmware and it is working again and they are just utterly ignorant bad jokes.

Same here, it made my Huntsman elite keyboard palm rest (hand rest) flicker. I must use it disconnected.

This is cool and all, however, if Razer sees that we are good to go with a downgrade hack then they won't bother, and we will be screwed. Plus, it may void the warranty. We want them to continue to fix what they were trying to fix (but scrupulously test it).

Thing is they do not care at all even without downgrade. Based on my last reply i got in case. TLDR, you are out of warranty, it is malfunction component, go buy a new one. Bye

This is not what i expect while i multiple times showed them it is FW related issue. I mean downgrade is not harmful as it is regular functionality. I will rather use it so far without issue while parallelly they can solve their stuff out. Im not idiot as they thinks who runs buy new stuff when they tell me to. If you are fine to go with annoying flickering or even disconnected wristrest for time being untill they acknowledge the issue and will be willing to fix the issue, this can take months, sure go on. Means im still gonna fight in case i have openned, but if they will keep telling me clear BS then i will not bother anymore.

Just smll update regarding my case etc. They seem to be ignoring it and are just letting the case to be automatically closed. No real response, no acknowledge etc.
Since I was in warranty, I sent mine to them and because they now longer make the Elite V1, I was asked if I'd accept a V2 even tho it lacks the under-glow that the V1 Elite has. I said yes due to the upgraded switches and better sound from the foam it has, I'm sure going to miss that under-glow tho :\\

According to the RAZER what replied in my case looks like that is the root cause. That their intention was that this FW is just for V2 RZ03-01970and not V1 RZ03-01871. But thing is there is no warning, and it is labeled as for huntsman elite, not v2 as the names are different. Also on website it clearly is in section for hunstman elite and no section with v2 is there (only V2 analog which has completely different version there), ppl cant tell while the installer itself will allow it. So again issue on their side.

Scroll up the thread, i've posted there reddit thread where you can easily downgrade it. According to RAZER this fw update is not mentioned to be installed on V1 huntsman elite ... with backlit handrest, but only V2 which is not having this handrest with rgb. Funny they are not capable to do the installer which would prevent this issue
