I didn't make a promise, I kinda just let out my opinion ;) knowing Razer and how they work, I don't think to kill off old rewards would net them much popularity with this community! I guess me saying they will kinda can be interpreted as a promise of sorts but more of an assertion from me!

Yup! More of a hopeful assertion/show of faith. I understand how it could seem like a promise to some but I wanna make it clear that that was never my intention!

We just all have to remember that somebody could come along here and start complaining to Razer that "I read on your forums that the Rewards were coming back for sure, and they never came back. I'm never buying Razer products again! No customer loyalty!" That could be based on somebody's reassurance.

Sometimes it's not what you say, but how you say it. You add "I think" or "I believe" or even "In my experience" to whatever you're posting, and there is no room for doubt that what you say is just one person's opinion or thought on the matter.

^ Not just advice for forum posting, but it carries into life. Take it from this 40-year-old gamer.

Got it! Next time around I'll say "From experience, Razer will....." I do understand how it can be misinterpreted but at the same time they person doesn't really have the right to complain as I'm not working for razer, so what I say isn't official no matter what ;)

    True, true.
But at the end of the day, if you're NOT seeing something stated from an official source, you can't take it as 100% fact anyway.
I guess for myself, because you can't actually hear tone of voice in written/typed letters, I look at what the person says and how they present. For example, a word being in all caps. An official source likely wouldn't say it like that. Plus, saying "they will" obviously means he's not an official source.

Idk. Not trying to start anything, just stating how I look at things.

Dont think most people would spam too much as that will be detected and possibly get punished but i guess that we also will see more answers to things that only require a short answear like do you like this or what do you have of this

I do believe that when you choose a zSilver reward then you do have to pay the shipping costs to your region/country. However, I haven't looked up the specifics on this or what kind of shipping fees we'd be looking at yet.

does the zGOLD work on the razerstore, more particularly in the UK store?

Not that I know of. There is that promotion right now to EARN zGold by spending at the Razerstore, but nothing about spending zGold at the Razerstore.

Not yet. I really want that to happen, though.

Razer doesn't even ship to my country yet lol. Worry about it when you have enough zsilver mate. Just push the restlessness till the time comes when you actually have enough zsilver. I think I heard Min talking about this during the facebook live session about paid to play and he did say that you have to pay shipping.

Sadly I'm still seeing spam all over the place. Tons of one-liner responses that could've just used a "like" instead, people making different posts right in a row one after the other instead of just making one longer post, back and forth mini-conversations between only two people that *really* should be moved to a private conversation instead... I don't imagine that will stop. There are still rewards for post counts (up to 2000 posts) and as long as that's still a factor people will still try and race for it instead of making good conversation and putting thought into their posts.

Oh yes... gimme, gimme, gimme! LOL
Mind you, I think a lot of people would be less than pleased with how liberally I would apply this. *grins wickedly*
Yes, indeed it is ... and believe me when I say that us mods/admins check this stuff regularly!! We will go into a user's profile and look at all their recent postings and actually look at all of them. If their stuff isn't legitimate posting and we feel that they're just padding post count, then you better believe we'll hit them with a warning and message them to let them know what's up. We see a lot more than what people seem to think we do ... it's kind of mind boggling, actually. Especially from the folks who, even after being warned, keep doing the same things over and over.

All of us who are trying to keep the forums clean and spam free love the membership and really do want this place to be the best social environment that it can be, so we do take it seriously when someone appears to be messing up "the flow" or "the atmosphere" -- also keep in mind that if someone is irritated with a new person who is spamming they won't hesitate to contact one of us and get our attention. In that context, you probably don't want our attention. LOL The people who really do make this place a "home" online, they make every effort to ensure that rules are followed and that it stays a comfortable place to be. :)

Problem is the prospect of reward can never really be overcome. Limits on posts discourages long time users from posting more, and only delays spam. The rewards system itself kinda needs a reworks to stop such high amounts of spam, although I highly doubt that some spam like crazy just to get the prizes. I do think some actually enjoy the forums enough to post a lot, which could be seen as spam

I think it would take off if they:
    -made compatible with steam
-allowed direct usage at Razer store
    -more challenges/events/giveaways promotioning it

Honestly, this is not an issue we've ever encountered here. Our long-time posters are still with us and thus far they all follow the rules and guidelines for posting and are quite pleased they're in place. This is an area where long time posters tend to contact us and complain about the folks who ignore the rules and guidelines, and while I can't speak for the other mods/admins I've never been contacted by a long time member who had complaints about the post requirements.

We definitely have had more than our fair share of new members who show up for specific rewards and spam the forum like crazy until they're either banned or they finally find a way to get what they wanted, then they never return.

As for those newer members who post a lot, we've never had an issue with the ones who do so and still follow the rules and guidelines. We completely understand that new members can be very enthusiastic and want to have their say in virtually every topic, especially in the beginning. However, we do start having issues when they post too many short one-liners and things that are just "I agree" or "Oh yeah, me too!" because those kinds of posts are specifically stated in the rules as not being allowed, they fall into the categories of either "one-liners" or "fluff" posts.

Essentially, the goal for the rules and guidelines are to get people to actually consider what they want to say and make well thought out posts that contribute to the conversation and promote further conversation. The more content and thought that goes into a post, the more likely it is that someone else will find something fascinating and worth commenting on. We're trying to promote content not just volume. :)

So true, so sadly true ... and we've even seen it happen here on Insider in the past. Someone posts something enthusiastically hoping that Razer staff will see it and confirm it then some random person reads it and takes it as canon and starts distributing the information as fact ... oh, the not so joyful snowball effect. hahaha

This is certainly one of my wishes as well, however, that means that Steam/Valve would need to also approve the partnership. I think that is where the difficulty would lie.

Agreed, but it would be a nice boost to both companies! Also it would allow Razer users to cash out on their favorite steam games, and allow Razer fans that use steam to get nice rewards too!
