Razer keycaps compatibility

Hello all,

I own since a few days a Razer Blackwidow Orange switches (UK-layout) but as a french speaker I'd like to switch the keycaps to FR-layout (Azerty).
Since the my current keycaps are in ABS, i'd also like to upgrade them for PBT material, but keycaps sets Razer sells arent for me because they are for an US-layout.

I have the opportunity to buy a used Huntsman Eite keboard with FR-layout and PBT keycaps. Would these keycaps fit in my Blackwidow Elite Orange switches with a UK-layout ?
FR support told me that it wouldnt fit and UK support told me it would fit, so I am a bit confused.

I'd say it works, because huntsman's keycaps might be very similar (if not identical) to the PBT keycaps sets Razer sells and these sets are told to fit in any Razer keyboards.
Thanks in advance for your help, Chamane

I just bought a set of cherry-style PBT keycaps and they didn't fit my huntsman mini switches, I had to sit there for almost 8 hours filing them down because I couldn't return them. Make sure the keycaps are thin enough to fit the huntsman switches.
Yes that's the thing I fear a bit.
But as both keycaps sets are made by Razer, I am a bit more optimistic 😶

If they are Razer's PBT keycaps, or similar, coming off of a Huntsman Elite, the smaller keys should fit, however any with stabilizers (ex. spacebar, shift etc.) will not fit easily from one keyboard to the other, since Razer's optical and mechanical switches both use different stabilizers.

You may be able to get the stabilizers out of the keys which require them already on your Blackwidow, however they do clip in pretty tight, and I have broken a couple in the past. Otherwise, you may be able to find the stabilizers online somewhere.
