Razer Kraken Black not functioning properly

I bought my Razer Kraken Black a year ago; love it. The other day I was listening to a Youtube video and all of a sudden the audio stopped. The blue LED on the headphones was on solid, and the computer Bluetooth showed it was no longer paired or connected. I tried to turn the headphones off but absolutely no combination of any buttons would make it turn off; I finally had to just leave it in that state till the battery died over 24 hours later. I re-charged the headphones but then they powered up and back down within 3 seconds even if the computer was not turned on. I decided to send in a support case, but in the process of creating a login here and typing this message, I had the unit powered off. I just tried re-installing the device driver and now it is working again normally. My question is, WHAT HAPPENED AND WHY? WHAT WENT WRONG? Seems like the bluetooth on the headset got borked into a mode where it was failing to communicate with anything. Is there a possible way to update firmware on this headphones?
