Razer Kraken Kitty stopped working... Need help

Hi there. Around February this year I bought a Razer Kraken Kitty Edition headset and I've absolutely loved it.
I've now had multiple issues where it has repeatedly disconnected and reconnected, making a popping sound when the audio goes off, and I get a notification on my computer that windows doesn't recognise a USB.
I have tried quite literally everything I've found so far, I've tried all day.

I've made sure everything is up to date, I've uninstalled them from my device manager to try and work things out, I've been in the registry.. Nothing has worked. No matter what USB port I've used it in whether it's on my monitor (it's original place) or somewhere else.. it does the same thing. I'm starting to get pretty desperate since I'm not the best in the world at figuring out what the problem is with stuff like headsets and I'd appreciate any advice

Have you tried contacting Razer Support? I assume the headset should still be covered under the warranty program.
I've just put a ticket in but after I've looked at some forums on the same headset people have had the same issue with no resolution
Been having the same issue across two separate headsets at this point, after Razer replaced the first ones saying it must be a hardware issue (obviously not). I'm still running around in circles doing everything Support suggests but nothing helps. After way too much research it seems like Windows just sometimes has issues with USB audio right now and we're just screwed until an update hopefully fixes it.
Hi! Did you get any answers on how to resolve this? I've been having the exact same issue for a while now and it is driving me nuts 😭😭

Hi! Official support couldn't figure it out for me, but I did eventually manage to fix it on my own! For me, the issue was that I needed to update my motherboard biOS. I basically got to a point where I realized it was the one thing I hadn't updated in trying to fix the issue, I looked at my motherboard manufacturer's website, and sure enough on one of the newer biOS updates it said it "fixed USB device compatability issues". The thing is, if you don't know how to flash your biOS, it's worth looking up a few tutorials, as if you do it wrong or mess up you can brick the whole board. I suspect that's why official support doesn't seem to recommend it. They'll say to update your chipset but that's not the same thing, that's more like updating a driver. So if you're encountering the issue it's worth checking your biOS version and if there are any updates, just make sure you know what you're doing.

there really hasnt been any recent biOS updates on my computer, but i did see and it says the biOS date is 1/3/2020 when i go on the manufaturers website, there was an update like a week after that one that says 1/12/2020, im not sure if its worth updating to that one? does it really make a difference..

Hi there, I got the same headset and appear the same issue as you descript. Let see if my solution may help.

I bought this headset after 1 month when it launched. It somehow only happen to disconnect with "popping sound" when using the THX sound application that is pre-installed in the Razer Cortex.

The device that I plugged in is a laptop that only provided USB2.0 port. I realize that it may need more power supply that at least USB3.0 or above. Not long after that, I bought a much power laptop, the issue was eliminated.

But this issue will still appear when I plugged into the Razer laptop stand (old version). Which confirmed the problem occurs is regarding the power supply.

To avoid using THX audio system, you may select the audio output by clicking the volume logo, then there will be at least 3 options, 1. Speaker, which is by your build-in monitor or laptop. 2. Razer Kraken Kitty, which will only provide the very basic audio output, no adjustment. 3. THX audio system, which is the best audio quality but requires more power to run this program.

Suggest selecting option 2. which may temporary reduce this issue. But your expensive headset will not shine out as it only gives you the very basic sound quality. You may feel a noticeable difference when compare with THX audio adjustment.

Hope it will help you, and the "popping sound" is really damaging your device. So if the above solution still can't fix it, it may already damage somehow, you should contact Razer support to explain this issue. They are very helpful.

Hey there! Thanks for initiating this thread. And yes, the more the peripherals are connected to your USB ports, the more voltage it requires to power up the devices. Please isolate the issue by connecting the Razer Kraken Kitty only if you are using a laptop or leave the headset, mouse, and keyboard if it's a desktop PC and check if the issue persists. Connect the headset to another computer too and check its behavior. Also, are you using an AMD computer with B550 and X570 motherboards? I've reported this to our Support Team and will update this thread once I got a follow-up. Feel free to send me a PM or submit a case to our Support Team should you need additional assistance.

Question: Is there a particular reason you asked if it's a B550 motherboard? I have a B550 and have the same problem. When the headphones disconnect it also disconnects my mouse and resets my case's RGB.

Thanks for asking. There's an ongoing issue with Gen 4 PCI-e affecting USB functionality. Here's AMD's statement:

Please check if the issue also happens without the headset in your setup. Here's the link where you can submit an inquiry to AMD via their online service request form.

Hey everyone. Should you have a computer with an Intel processor and the issue, persists, please update this thread or send me a PM.
