Razer Kraken TE - THX wont work

Hello guys, I bought Kraken TE headset and I found that when I calibrate THX (surround sound) Im not able to hear any difference between left and right speakers (earpads), basically nothing changed it was still the same, I found that when I was playing a game and then I noticed that I dont know from where is someone shooting.

I dont know how to fix that, I was searching through multiple threads, videos and also firmware, nothing helped me, is there something else what could help?

Ok, so I noticed that Ive had Playback devices vice versa, now surround sound works, but another things showed up
1. My left earpad have more volume than right one, I know that because I tried to mute sounds and then I was slightly adding volume until I heard volume in 1 earpad, I also tried to revert headset on my head, so something is wrong. I have it balanced in my windows audio mixer, I dont know whats wrong, should I just replace them with new or is there something how to fix that?

Restarting after you got the THX working? It could be the DAC, but I'm really just speculating. Try playing with the volume on the in line controls on the headset as well as the DAC before adjusting in Windows.
I noticed another one thing, I tried to maximize volume on youtube, windows and on the headset cable (the green one) then I muted the headset sound card from headset and I was slightly returning volume again on that sound card, there was not any problem, its happening only with the volume wheel on the headset/green cable.

I also found someone with exatctly the same problem, but with Kraken Pro V2 --> LINK

EDIT: I also tried to connect them into my Xiaomi Phone (obviously through the jack), same problem, when I lower the volume almost at the minimal %, I can hear sound just from the left one.

Cheack on difrent pc if you can not phone 😛 if the issue will be the same send to warranty becose you dont do nothing on your own in most case issue present on more then pc give you device issue.
Hello,

I think this is the feature of Kraken TE since I have just the same problem with my new headphones. If you maximize all sounds (windows, USB controller, and set the balance of speaker 100/100) and then slightly start to rotate the wheel on your "green" (I have the black version) wire, first there is no sound in the right ear, and then at some point you can hear sounds in both ears. Do you think this is a kind of defect in all models? Also, did you notice a hissing or buzzing noise in your headphones? Are you going to replace it?

Btw, do you have problems with Synapse 3?

!! Yeah, I have exactly the same problem, when I rotate volume down, at some point I can hear sound only in the left and if I rotate it a little bit more again, then I can hear it in both ears.

And the second part with buzzing noise, yep, thats happening to me aswell.

I will replace them yesterday via warranty.
Will you replace them with the same Kraken TE model? I guess you will have the same problems...

Can you try to set EQ and try again it my be a balance issue but at this point i'm not sure.
If you mean the hissing noise, I tried the EQ already. I also tried to connect the headphones without the USB controller straight to the jack, and there was no hissing. However, the quality of sound became worse. Tbh, I am not satisfied with sound quality even with the USB controller plugged in, especially while listening to music.
Atm I am surfing internet, and now I am pretty sure that I will have the same problem with other Razer headphone models. It could be some kind of interference with USB port inside my PC case, but I am not very good with audio systems. I think I will try another model, maybe not Razer.
Ok so, Ive got new one headset (same one) with same issues, nothing changed.

Not sure if its caused by razer or me, because I dont think that everyone have these issues.
Hello,
I have bought this headphones two days ago and am also hearing a hissing noise when using the USB controller.
Have any of you been able to solve this issue?

Have you tried to set all volume settings to 100 except Windows, and then regulate the volume only there? Also, you may check this http://www.tomsguide.com/answers/id-1964417/razer-kraken-hissing-noise.html
One more option is to try special usb filters (idk how they are called right) that you can find on amazon, for example.
I tried almost all of those and it didn't fix it for me...
however I think I found a patch that works for me, if you put the sound on windows on 100% and then lower the inline volume in the cable between the headphones and the usb controller (the noise will be reduced but the music will also) to compensate for this use the audio controller to raise the sound a bit(doing this seams to raise the sound but not the noise) and with this method you can still use the controller to change the volume.

Keep in mind that this is more like a temporary patch and I think the issue should still be addressed.
Hope it also works for you.
You know, your way is much better then mine. Now, I do not hear the hissing at all! However, there is still that problem with difference in ears on low volume... -_-

Yeah, and one more thing! Do you also have a very quiet sound when your rotate the wheel to 0 level with this patch???
No, I dont think I have that issue.
Maybe that is a defect in your headphones?!

mine works perfectly but my mic is the problem when i use the mic in fortnite my friends hear my chat audio not my voice is there a fix for that Thanks!
I have exactly the same issue with my headset. When I do the test in synapse 3 I can see the bars lighting up and going around in a circle but the sounds doesn't change at all, It;s just plain not working at all. I will probably just return them and get a cheap stereo headset because they actually work better with sound direction, its sad but I prefer my old one

I can only say if it's issue the best way to cheak this will be connect headset to another device see there if the behevior will be the same but if it;s a personal sound awernes i recommend you sorround pro that you can download from razer website and set the sound to your preferences.
I unplugged the headset from the USB control unit and plugged it into the headphone jack and the headset works really well now! it has surround sound and I can tell left side from right very clearly, so the headset works but when I plug it into the USB connector there is no more surround sound.. There is something wrong with the Synapse 3 software it seems

I found the Issue and fixed it! I right clicked on the audio on the bottom right and selected playback, I had it set to the headset earphone setting with the headset icon and not the speaker icon that said kraken-game ready. My controller was also all the way to the headset side and not on the gaming side with the toggle. surround sound works fine now 🙂
Then you use your headset without the usb controler ? (sorry i got a poor english so i do not understand your message this well)
I actually got this fuck'n crackling noise that completly replace sound when using my headset on the kraken game-ready thing... It's only since the last synapse update.
I've tried like everything but nothing work....
Seems to be a problem with the thx driver (actually everything work well when not using the thx surround)

Thanks! That was my problem too.... In troubleshooting why Synapse 2 would not recognize the Kraken TE, i set the "headset earphone" to default device.... Changing the "Razer Kraken TE - Game" to default sound device fixed my issue not getting any difference in channels.
