Hi, I'm looking for a new laptop. I would use my laptop for coding, work and gaming. I used to use a Macbook Pro for this, except obviously the gaming part is lacking.

I like the look of the razer blade https://19216811.cam/ stealth or the razer blade 15, but some of the stories on this subreddit make me a bit hesitant to shell out the money for a razer. For the people in this subreddit, have you had a lot of problems with the razer laptops? And how helpful was customer support?

I had and have 7 Razer laptops in past decade, 6 works great and only one (2018 15 advanced) had battery bloat (it was maybe due lockdown more gaming time) though it was after 3 years and easy to recognise and replace. Though I didn’t invest to a new battery last year but for buying new blade 14, and the old using it as a desktop (without battery direct ac adapter connection).
Reddit Razer CS is a lot improved I think, with my posts regarding battery treatment they spotted me and DM me to offer a help. Since I’m apparently appreciated for helping community they gave me free battery service (it’s out of guarantee). And with 2022 model they prolong the battery guarantee to 2 years which was blade laptops weak point, so I wouldn’t be worried too much. If you’re still, you can add longer guarantee like through Razer care or 3rd party retailers guarantee extension for longer hardware protection. It’s different with MacBooks (2021 or before 2016 models), gaming laptops run hotter in general due its powerful gpu, so maybe it’ll not last as long as MacBook which runs on low wattage parts. But as MacBook user I can say that blade laptops is the closest build to it compared to other gaming laptops.
