So perhaps Razer themselves confirmed the existance of a new Blade Pro?

    It doesn't seem like it...

I'm sure Razer will update the Blade Pro lineup.
The current Blades are called the "New Razer Blade (Pro)". Check the product page's title (or here).

Right click the image and click "Open Image in New Tab"

Though it really doesn't mean anything. It's said that for almost a year so it doesn't help in any way shape or form. I personally think they're dropping the Blade Pro line completely. The SwitchBlade just didn't receive enough dev support.

I was thinking that they would ditch switchblade and redesign the Blade Pro to have a better GPU than the 14" as opposed to the current offering. They may be waiting for Pascal as a big overhaul calls for a big GPU change. Or like you said, not enough people buying it so they ditched it completely.

I mean the SwitchBlade was a defining feature. I really think they should just set up SwitchBlade to run Android with a skin and treat it like a small tablet. MUCH more support and it would run so much faster.

I wonder how much physical space the switchblade ui takes up, couldn't find a tear down for the Pro.

It spans pretty much the whole thickness of the laptop. I saw one torn down a while back. It could really improved with the tech we have now.

That is probably what robbed us of at least a 970m in it before.

That's definitely not what robbed us of the 970M. It had enough space for the 970M I think they just didn't bother because of lackluster sales and a 960M SOC is very easy to find so I'm pretty sure they just used a stock model and didn't bin it like the 970M's either. Business-wise, its smart but for those that wanted the Pro, it kind of sucks.

Given the size of the switchblade it could have impacted cooling. Again, haven't seen the internals so no idea. It seems like a bit of a Catch 22 though, sales are bad so decent parts aren't used, but sales are bad because decent parts were not used.

Image is still up, and i still see a market for a 17 inch blade. I could do without the switchblade ui and go for a normal keypad. Id love to see a refresh with the chroma keyboard. Im holding off on buying a blade till i know if there will be a pro this year.
