So i wanted to buy a new keyboard and i was thinking about the razer ornata chroma, but i am mainly going to use it for gaming and i dont know how good will the mecha membrane thingy actually be for gaming. i mainly play League Of legends for the moment . what do you think? 8889281937438.jpg

  2. I think it's fine for LoL, I've tested it once before but it really depends on your switch preference.

I use it for many games and I love it, and I have had it for over a year now with no issues. I would say go for it, but if you have used mechanical keyboards in the past the Blackwidow might be the best option for you.

I actually havent used any mechanicals before, so i dont know if there is actually a big performance issue between mech mebrane and mechanical or if its actually the ame and the only difference is the feel.

The Ornata is still a membrane switch like the Deathstalker, it just has higher keycaps and a little metal clip inside to make the click noise and makes it feel a bit tactile.
It doesn't really have a actuation point where you don't need to fully press the button down like on a mechanical, the keys only registered when fully pressed down.

If you had a membrane before I would say go for it, if you had a mechanical before (You said you never), go for the blackwidow.
  7. I felt like the mecha membrane switches were weaker than the mechanical as expected since the click felt like a lower quality click compared to cherry blues and razer greens, maybe people may like it more. It's fine for gaming though. I don't think it can fail you but I definitely think mechanical switches have a higher quality feeling.

Edit: I agree with Jenjar. It's probably safer to go for the ornata to get an idea of how clicky mechanical keyboards are like.

I'm currently using an Ornata Chroma and I can say it's a good keyboard for gaming. You have that tactile feel like a mechanical keyboard (green) because of the metal clip on top of the rubber domes. The keys' height is in between a mechanical and chiclet keys. Plus, the RGB lights are crazy on the Ornata Chroma, just like on a Cynosa Chroma since the LEDs are inside the rubber domes and are illuminated by a white backplate.
