Hey, I'm new on the forums, and I think that my first post should be something that might not have been said yet. Lol, jk, this must have been said a few hundred times before. But I seriously think there should be a razer phone, something with good memory, processing, and a sexy design that you can show off to your friends and be totally epic.

Let's first see a worldwide Blade, then we will talk about a tablet or phone...

Talking of which, there's this Project Christine on the rails that we didn't hear about a while nor Switchblade neither Fiona...

If think this would be a really cool idea! They could use Android, but they would have to customize it for their phone.

I'm so done with Android. Every version since Ice Cream Sandwich has been more and more user hostile. Jelly Bean started ratting you out to the carrier when tethering.

Then KitKat comes along and removes the ability to use USB disks.

Now Lollipop comes out and they removed mail, gallery, lock screen widgets, silent mode, and wrecks battery life.

Not only that, but Google delivered VoIP in their Hangouts app to iOS over a year ago. The android version still can't make outbound calls on VoIP with hangouts.

Do I want another Android device? No.

I'm hoping Ubuntu gets ported to a lot of other handsets now that it's shipping. I'd love to just wipe Android off my nexus.

A mobile Ubuntu would be phenomenal.

There's definitely a hole in the mobile market that Razer could probably fill - user control. Android is currently the lesser of all evils as far as I'm aware, but even then you have root it to really have any say in what it does or how it looks.

If Razer could make something that gave the use full control by default, without having to do things like rooting, it would be a huge hit, imo.

Actually I'm interested with Firefox phones over Android, they seem capable but this isn't as interesting as an Ubuntu one indeed. This could bring computers far closer to mobile device. Someday we will all have a JARVIS with us, maybe thanks to that kind of development.

I'd imagine the Razer Phone would look something like this:

Sorry to say... Razer is awesome... But going up against the likes of the iPhone ... Don't think it will go well. If it ran android it would have a slim chance but still... Huge market to jump into at this point. :)

they would have to make a premium device which would go up against iphone and samsung the two largest market share holders. Asian market would be difficult to get because of the price the phone would have to be. What unique feature could it bring other than branding only thing i could think of is stream support like razer tv. They would have to use android because there is no way to jump in with proprietary os. The cost of manufacture would make margins small unless they priced it at like 2 grand. I love the idea but it is not realistic.

Project Christine depends completely on OEM's playing ball with Razer, which is highly unlikely so I wouldn't hold you breath. Switchblade got weaved into the Blade Pro, and Fiona became the Razer Edge. I highly doubt we will ever see a phone. It's more likely that we will continue to see things like the Jungle Cat which are designed to work with phones to turn them into mobile gaming platforms but the problem is the un-standardize market that is mobile phones. It is likely that we will never see anything Razer, aside from software, that clips onto a non-iPhone phone due to the wide range of shapes and sizes of Android phones. One reason that peripheral makers love about iPhone is that they have a large consumer base and a standardized model which means one product has millions of potential costumers. You don't have that with Android.

the fact that they can barely make a 'Smart-Band', I would not want that. Like people have said in this thread, they need to perfect what they already have released before venturing into new markets, such as phones.

As previously stated, they tried to make a tablet. Not enough people bought it. They make a laptop that is doing well but that's because most other laptops suck. There's really no competition on Windows. Phones? The iPhone is basically a monopoly (with Samsung filling in the rest) on the high end market, so....... not really

How is it negative, it's a statement of fact. The Nabu is not as good as it could be. Both as a consumer and a developer, it's nothing compared to the Garmin Vevo Smart. Do some research and get your head out of Razer, they're not the only company.

Brand says "For games, by gamers."
I don't think they never gonna make phone, because phone is just phone. Call & txt and when free time play Flappy Bird or somthing to kill time.
If you guys remember Nokia N-Gage, desinged for gaming, but it was purely FLOP.

Plus the fact that we hold Razer to a higher standard is what forces them to continue to release well made products. So just blindly saying that the Nabu is great and to take your negativity some where else is counter productive to the whole point. As consumers we need to speak up when they release a bad product. We should all face the fact that the Nabu has a lot more flaws then what we tend to accept from Razer and that is also why I think we haven't heard anything about it since the last wave which was months ago. They are likely working on the durability problem or have scrapped the project completely in favor of the Nabu X. I hope it it's the former and not the latter since the Nabu X is nothing more then a Razer branded fitbit.
