Does anyone know what (US) carriers will support the Razer Phone? I am looking forward to the 17th, but I don't want to order it if my carrier will not support it. I am really hoping US Cellular will support it, if not, then I am SoL

As of right now the Razer Phone is a GSM (AT&T and T-Mobile) only phone which means it will not work on CDMA carriers like Verizon and Sprint. I just did a quick google and US Cellular is a CDMA carrier so unless they make a change to allow the Razer phone specifically like Verizon did with the essential phone a while back, you are stuck with switching to AT&T or T-Mobile. Which for many people I have talked to that are interested in this phone are stuck with not getting it due to the two main providers that support GSM have bad coverage in their areas or they are stuck with a current provider for other reasons. I am really hoping that Razer maybe changes this before launch or maybe we get lucky and our CDMA providers somehow allow it.

Neither Verizon nor Sprint allow for unapproved LTE-only devices and it's highly unlikely that changes.

I believe this will work on cricket wireless.. They don't have requirements other than working on the network iirc.
So there's cricket, att prepay, t-mobile, uhhh I'm missing a couple I think.

I'm Verizon and Yea, unfortunately the Verizon coverage is unmatched in a lot of areas. I'm out near the country and only Verizon works in my area. *sigh*

I have done a little searching myself and found that there may be a way US Cellular and Verizon can support the phone. On the Band specs it says LTE B1/2/3/4 etc., US Cellular supports B5 and B12. (First link) Verizon supports B2 B4 and B13 (Second Link). So maybe, just maybe it will be supported, but I am still skeptical. https://www.frequencycheck.com/carriers/u-s-cellular-united-states https://www.frequencycheck.com/carriers/verizon-wireless-united-states

Edit: I just looked and the phone doesn't support B13, but still B2 and B4 for Verizon.

Apparently, no support for B13 will decrease coverage area, people talk in more detail about it on Verizon's subreddit here:

Also! Verizon customers should show support by replying to Min-Liang Tan's tweet here, where he asks what carriers Razer should work with! Let him know we need the support!

So I don’t know if this is the right place to ask this but do any of you guys know if I’ll be able to use metropcs?

I did a quick google search and MetroPCS is owned by T-Mobile, which is a GSM network. So theoretically, Yes MetroPCS would be supported with an unlocked phone
  11. What about straight talk

Quoting directly from the site here "Compatible phones include: GSM Unlocked phones, AT&T Compatible phones, T-Mobile Compatible phones, Sprint Compatible Phones, and some other CDMA Technology Compatible phone." However, it also states, "To check if your phone is compatible, visit stbyop.com, select “Check Compatibility,” and follow the steps." So I would assume yes, it would.

Is the new Razer phone compatible with boost mobile?
  15. Back_The_Blue

Unfortunately no, boost mobile is a CDMA network.

Boost mobile, luckily not. I got their s8 because my gf gets a bar of extra signal. I used to have them few years back. Well now they load a bunch of bloatware you can't uninstall, cant even prevent it from running in the background. I've been on their network with their s8 for a little over a week, worst experience in years. They'll also boot ya from the network if ya root your phone. If ya complain on their forum they'll either ban you or say "there's some applications you can't uninstall" but you won't see that anywhere in any advertisement or disclaimer.

It will be a huge loss for potential customers if Verizon isn't supported. I would buy this phone in a heart beat if it worked with verizon

I agree, if US Cellular doesn't support it within a few months, I may switch to something else that supports it.
  19. Well i saw something on YouTube amd the razer phone is GSM only so I guess that means that straight talk would work

Yeah I posted about this on a couple threads now. I'm verizon and makes me sad :slightly_sad:

The phone maybe great but the service is what matters most in which is why I'll be staying with verizon.

Edit: on a side note I like the portrait pic @Prime_Evils :)
