ok cool - i figured this.

before i received my Galaxy S8 i had an image in my mind of using it in the swimming pool like some hot shot - but went on holiday and didnt do that once...havent used the water proof feature since i got it in May....apart from when i washed it once - that was fun!

so all in all - no water resistance doesnt bother me - i was just curious

Okay I'll bite and definitely pick one up when I can. I was gonna get the pixel but those screen issues killed it and then the essential was on my radar too but this blows that away (apart from the bezzelless) but I'd rather have fill on speakers. One question though what about student discount for it?

One thing I will say though your presentation sucked I mean really. Your audience couldn't give a crap at all the news about how the company is doing (spoiler alert no one does) so wasting time doing all that stuff was stupid and pointless to us.

Seems ok, aswell prize wize. Design...too boxy, and infinty screen a la Samsung Galaxy S8/8+/Note8 and iPhone X is missing, then again it's all about the sound so infinity display not really needed. For Razers 1st smartphone it seems super good. Using Nova Launcher since a couple years (not going to post a YouTube Video here from me or anyone else b4 I get flagged again for selfpromition...defnetly funny when a video is not mine)
Any way, specs seem ok, camera like a S7edge. Should be fair enough.
Would get one for my reviews, and I could imagine to maybe even use the Razer Phone privatly

Ha Ha! I just hope there is a way that Verizon could carry this line. I'm happy with my carrier and don't think I can leave it as T-mobile/At&T aren't the best services here at all, which matter more in the long run if buying the phone for that use of course.

I’m not sold on this at all.

Why go with this over something from Samsung or Apple? Razer is brand new at this, and quite frankly need improvement in quality control, customer service and support.

I can get an iPhone or Samsung fixed and back in my hands within hours or days at worst. Razer would be weeks under their current business model - who wants that?

CONGRATULATIONS ON THE RAZER PHONE LAUNCHH!! VERY EXCITED FOR THE SPECIAL EDITION! HOPE YOU GUYS WILL MAKE IT AVAILABLE IN MALAYSIA!

I love the part of the livestream when it talks about the payment for the phone. I laughed real hard, did not expect that coming. Good job guys!

I would like to ask a few questions and hopefully it can be answered (@Razer|Technokat , @mltan) :
    1) Why call it the Razer Phone? Granted it's what it should be called but i expected like a cool name for it as with the Razer Blade lineup. Just hearing the word Razer Phone sounds nice but a bit of a letdown.
    2) Would there be an updated version that supports Qualcomm v4+ for your powerbank? It would be awesome if it did.
    3) Would there be more casing in the future as opposed to the current. Such as the aluminium casing like you previously did for the iPhones? or even a leather version?
    4) What was the biggest challenge in designing this phone?
    5) When can I expect my special edition phone to arrive? Hahaha jokess

Did some digging around a research on the phone.

According to Support the 24-Bit DAC is built in:

The phones bootloader can be unlocked and the phone can be rooted at the expense of voiding the warranty.

Specs of what it has and doesn't have:

Comes with Android 7.1.1 (Oreo in 5 months)
    Nova Prime Launcher (paid version)
    8GB dual channel ram (LPDDR4, 1866 MHz)
    Razer game booster
    5.7-inch IGZO LCD 1440 x 2560
    12MP AF f1.75 Wide w/
13MP AF f2.6 Zoom dual cameras
    8MP FF f2.0 front camera
    Snapdragon 835 @2.4ghz
    120 HZ adaptive sync screen.
    Micro SD slot expansion.
Unlockable bootloader (can root but voids warranty).
Finger print scanner on power button.
24-bit DAC built in (according to Razer support).
    USB-C to 3.55mm adapter.
    64GB internal storage.
    4,000 mAH battery.
    Corning gorilla glass 3 screen.

    What it doesn't have:
    No headphone jack.
    No wireless charging.
    Restricted to only GSM networks.
    No removable battery.
    Good camera features.
    No facial recognition.
No IP68 (in fact it's not even rated for Water or Dust).
    AMOLED screen.
    Headphones or earbuds.
Accidental warranty (only has limited 1 year).

Might have missed a couple but that's the gist.

Isn't it a bit too early for 120hz phones? I mean not every pc gamer has a monitor above 60hz or look at consoles. Razer get a razer console out with 120hz ez profit.

Me. I’m not expecting it could be rival for Apple or Samsung, i just want decent mobile entertainment device, for calling I’ve iphone this one is for gaming and media consumption;)
You should ask the lens manufactures, well it would be known soon after ifixed etc reassemble it later, photo isn’t bad at all but on subreddit someone uploaded the video from it, and not so impressive.
The other info I think if you saw the AFK and Razer website (RP specs) including this forum, it isn’t new info.

What does this phone do for “gaming & media consumption” that the other two can’t? There is nearly no market for this...

You saw the AFK London right? Well if didn’t, short of point: 8GB Ram and decent Battery life, on my iPhone 6S plus continue gaming killed the battery maybe 3 hours like infinity Blade etc, it advertised 7 hours, even 5 to 6 hours i am good. You’re a gamer right, 120 fresh rate is a big deal, 2 front speakers which is also for better grip, and it would come Ultra hunt, kind PUBG for mobile, those are the important points for me, has those two brands that features? I don’t really care about water resistance, camera or audio jack etc because for that I have iPhone. Nice if there’s any;)
As i heard from CS here per phone, i was not the only one who asked its availability.

Nice. Wonder if it's gonna die like Nabu, Adaro and Stargazer and many many other products. Nabu watch was so "cool" etc and what do we get?
And during the keynote, comparing ram to a macbook and an iphone...
