So if Razer Surround icon is not showing up in Synapse, and you have an AMD card, you must install the HDMI audio drivers, restart your PC, then it will appear.

That only gets it to show up however, now you will get "Unsupported Device", and Razer Surround will not activate, not sure how to fix this issue. Capture.PNG

TEMPORARY FIX: You have to uninstall Microsoft security update or wait for Razer update to fix it. Just go to "Control Panel>Programs>Programs and Features>Installed Updates" and find this update according to your version and uninstall it:

    Security Update for Windows (KB4056892).
For older versions of Windows 10, here are the patch numbers:

    • Windows 10 version 1703 (Creators Update): KB4056891
    • Windows 10 version 1607 (Anniversary Update): KB4056890
    • Windows 10 version 1511 (November Update): KB4056888
    • Windows 10 version 1507 (Initial Release): KB4056893

Fixed it temporarily, uninstall all Windows updates for 1/6, this will cause your PC to reboot, and then it will start showing up your headset.

yeah my icon for razer and headphones completely disappeared from mine, and I only noticed it this morning. now it's screwing up all my audio settings, and things that I don't even HAVE for audio hardware/software are showing up as being the ones that actually work, with razer being the only one NOT working -_- #logic

  8. For those of you with the same problem, you can just uninstall the recent windows update and the surround sound works again. Just go to your update history and delete.

But at the end of the day Razer Synapse needs an update for the fix cause we'll need the windows updates eventually.

  10. Any ETA on fix @RAZER?

I would rather Razer figure out a patch to uninstalling Windows updates. The updates are there for a reason. I have amassed years worth of ProN and would like to keep it safe from hackers.

So any word on an actual fix for this. I really don't want to roll back to earlier version took for ever for it to update in the first place. Microsoft needs to work with these people so they get the updates right the first time. Instead of letting us the people be the testers of there suppose to work out of the box software. Get it together Microsoft. I don't blame the makers as they had already done there homework and had good working stuff and microsoft went and messed it all up with a update. They broke broadcom PCIE WIFI cards also had to find a fix for that to get online again.

Try tweeting at Razer Customer Support. They respond pretty quick.

I was going crazy over this weekend, and I thought I did something wrong for my Razer Surround. Searching on Google and found that I wasn't the only one...Right now I'm using Dobly Atmos 7.1 to replace the Razer until they get it fix. I would pref Razer surround more for my headphone :wink_::wink_:

  17. Today Razer surround icon is gone completely from synapse menu, didn't touch anything. It was there yesterday but today it's gone.

When we will get an official answer from Razer support team about all this mess.

I recommend not to uninstall the recent window's update because that is a patch to safe your PC from Meltdown and Spectra attacks. The internet were all talking about this. I will just wait Razer to fix the Razer Surround .
