    This is indeed a Microsoft update problem and for most users the update has no use-fullness as its a Quality of life update. But i have also both wrote to Microsoft support about this and made a hub post that can be viewed and up-voted to get there attention.

    Hope this helps and since i had no sound for most of the time. this has been extremely annoying. But MS tends to throw alot of kinks in the works from time to time.

    Razer had release update for Razer Cortex and Synapse 3 beta but there's no update for Synapse 2 yet :frown_:

    Razer Cortex got updated first, then Razer Synapse 3.. keep press the check for update and maybe it will appear.

    Is the Razer Surround working on Synapse 3.0 beta?

    Nope, didn't see it there. I guess for now still at Synapse 2 .

    I had the same issue happened on my Window 10 PC too! I thought Razer wouldn't let their Surround users used the software to tweak their external sound devices anymore.... Anyhow, I hope Razer fix the issue ASAP, the Realtek audio quality is really sucks

    Yeah, about 2 days ago i had a Windows 10 update and after the update was complete I go into razer synapse and the razer surround disappeared. It isn't in razer synapse 3 either. I don't know where it went. I right click razer synapse after clicking on the arrow and it says razer surround. However, there is no arrow there anymore so I can't choose which device I want to have audio go through and whether I want the surround sound or not. Also, it says i have an update for the framework on razer synapse but after it "updates and installs" it does nothing and shows me the same exact thing again and again.
     
  9. Same problem here as you all. Off topic : In its working days, when i was asked for my device i could not find my razer kraken pro v2 .There's only the kraken pro on headset list. Is this normal ? Or should it have the newer kraken also ?

    Just got off chat with support here is the conversation for an update.

    Me (4:17:06 PM):is there going to be a fix for this

    Software Support (4:18:34 PM):I see. This is already being worked on our engineering department. They are still trying to create an update patch so that it will address the problem with the Windows update.

    Me (4:19:03 PM):eek:k any time as to when there might be a fix

    Software Support (4:19:35 PM):We apologize for this inconvenience. Rest assured our engineers are working towards a resolution. As of the moment we don't have the exact time as to when the issue will be resolved.

    Me (4:20:38 PM):10-4 I know its really not you guys fault its these stupid windows 10 updates it broke my broadcom wireless pci card too but I found a fix for it.

    Software Support (4:21:46 PM):eek:h wow! So it didn't just affect Razer's software but also your hardware? We definitely appreciate your understanding and concern. Hopefully this issue will be resolved as soon as possible.

    Me (4:22:51 PM):yes broke a few things but found fixes for some of them. tried everything to get the surround back but you guys will have to come up with something there lol

    Me (4:23:16 PM):Microsoft needs to do more testing before they put those updates out

    Software Support (4:23:44 PM):Yeah, unfortunately we will have to fix a problem that wasn't cause by Razer lol.

    Software Support (4:25:17 PM):Rest assured they're already working on a resolution, but again I won't be able to provide you the exact time of the fix. But other than this, would there be anything else that I can help you with?

    Do you happen to know exactly which windows update it is? Like what the update code is? example on the 5th i had an update that was KB4056892

    It's the big creative update not sure what the number is not at my PC right now sorry.

    Thanks I uninstalled it and it works fine now! Thank you so much!
    Also under advanced settings for windows updates i puased all updates because it was about to reinstall the update i just uninstalled lol

  15. Guys, I really would not recommend to uninstall this windows update. This is the one that "fixes" the recently published Meltdown vulnerability.
    Because this exploit was leaked to the public, Microsoft was forced to rush this patch before proper testing.

    I kinda agree with the previous post that's why I am leaving the update and hope Razer can find a fix pretty quick. Plus the update seemed to fix some slow issue I was having with windows also. I can wait on a fix for sound.

    It's things like this that make me want to wipe Windows 10 and go back to 7. This is the 4th time W10 has messed with my computer for it's mandatory updates.
    Even if I sometimes tell them not to install and hold off on the dates. They sneak in from time to time.

    I just upgrade my windows from 7 to 10 and im unable to use surround. While in windows 7 i had no problem. I tryied to reinstall but doesnt work. It do the installation but its not 'added' in razer synapse beside my razer taipan mouse like it was on windows7 so i cant use it. Do you guys know some fix for this? Thanks in advance.

    Hi guys! I just bought kraken pro v2 and I was very surprised about the poor sound quality. Now that I found this threat I will give it another try to wait for an update, maybe razer surround pro will give me better sound quality. Still, I don't get it: why these premium headset don't come with a driver or a usb connection. Why it's 2018 and these headset are not recognized in Windows 10 x64. Why it's 2018 and I need to manual find settings in Windows options instead of configuring this in a razer software. This is very disappointing and yeah..still the same problem: razer surround it's not opening at all on my side. Clicks without opening (when opening synapse in the task-bar and clicking on surround). So, at least for some of you the software opens. Mine doesn't, and yeah, another system without windows recognizing this premium headset. This is not good for gamers!!!
