Razer Synapse 3 Causing Audio Issues

With Synapse 3 running, I get constant static/crackling noise coming from my speakers. It does the same thing if I plug in a headset. Doesn't matter if it's a usb headset, 3.5mm headset, or my studio reference monitors. The ONLY way I have found to solve this is to completely exit the synapse 3 software. However, what's the point in having razer products if I can't control the lighting?

I've seen other threads that mention the THX service being the issue, however I do not have the THX service. I do not have an audio tab at all in my Synapse software and I do not have any registry keys for anything THX related so that solution will not work for me.

What I've tried:

  • Reboot
  • Re-install synapse
  • Updating windows
  • Updating all drivers
  • Installing different audio drivers
  • Disabling all effects related to sound
  • Removing ALL modules except chroma connect and chroma studio
  • Re-installing windows

There is one 'solution' that I've discovered. If I disable my graphics card and then re-enable it, the problem goes away until the next reboot. However, this is highly annoying and I do NOT consider it a viable solution.

System Info:

  • Windows 10 x64
  • AMD Ryzen 9 3950x
  • Asus Hero VIII motherboard
  • Nvidia RTX 3090 (MSI Suprim X)
  • 64GB RAM
  • Razer Huntsman Elite
  • Razer Deathadder V2
  • Razer Goliathus Extended Chroma Gaming Mousepad

after reinstalled the driver, and the problem is not solved maybe if yout try next steps it solve your issue:

1 - Simultaneously press the Windows + X keys;
2 - Click on the Device Manager option;
3 - Click the arrow that points to Sound, video, and game controllers;
4 - Right-click on the installed device and click uninstall;
5 - Restart the computer. It will start with a generic system driver.

Yes of course. The drivers for not only the audio devices but also the video and various other things have gotten removed and reinstalled multiple times over the course of me debugging this. Sadly nothing has helped. I don't think the problem is driver related though. Unless there's one random driver conflicting with the synapse software. However, I'm on a fresh install right now with the bare minimum installed.
I have had the same issue with a set of Nari essentials and Nari Ultimate. Without syanpse installed both headsets DO NOT have a crackle, the moment you install syanpse it is there and it is very annoying. I'm returning both headsets its so bad and shopping for a different brand. I have found no fix, diagnosed/reinstalled, tried different computers. Nothing fixes it.
I am having exactly the same issue. Before it was only with Battlefield 1 and Battlefield V, and Heroes and Generals. Today, Synapse had an update. Now I can't even watch Youtube videos without a loud screeching and crackling sound making all of my audi unusable. It only stops when take off THX Synaspse in Windows adio control panel. Hoever, I still get annoying popping sounds on some of my games when I have my default output set to Nari game. This is my third replacement headset from them in less than six months. It is deffinately an issue with the Razer software. Please Razer, fix it!!!
I have an open ticket with them, its now been passed to their software side of the house. I'm going to be returning the Nari Ultimates because they just fall off my head, I don't like them. My replacement Nari essentials I have another 30 days before I have to return them through amazon. If Razer can fix this then I will keep them, if not I'm going to be returning them and buying SteelSeries Arctis 7 wireless cause this is ridiculous.

I can't say that I blame you. I still have my Razer Man O War wireless that sound fantastic, and all my friends say the mic is way better on the Man O War. I wanted to have all of my devices on Synapse 3 witch is why I decided to get the Nari. I do like the buld quality better than the Man O War, and they fit me great, but they have been nothing but trouble for me. From Discord, to all of my games, and now just alll around audio. I can't wait to hear what support answers you with. I will be opening a ticket as well. Good luck!
sadly, my experience with support so far has been nothing but a run around. test this test that. I get it, they have to check their boxes and all but damn. I have 3 sets of Nari headphones, all doing the same thing and I have tested them on 3 different computers. It has NOTHING to do with my PC, you guys have an issue with your software. Nope, we're still jumping through the hoops. I'll let you know how things progress.
Razer just pushed an update, I think mine is fixed. Update synapse and see if it solves your issue.
I've done the update and this is still happening for me.
yeah i spoke too soon, it fixed it for a few things i watch but its still there for others. it didn't fix anything, just changed it. still has crackle. i'm returning mine so I won't be able to comment on future updates.
Happening on Razer Carcharias too, around the same time as windows updates. Only "viable" solution is installing bluestacks and running it in the background (just minimize it). the MOMENT the app launches the crackling is fixed. Either do that OR turn off surround sound and the crackling goes away, but so does your money's worth
I have had my Razer Kraken Kitty edition usb headset for about a month now. It started cracking yesterday. WTF is this?!
Found a fix! Updated synapse and same issue occurred as the rest of you. I think I found a fox or at least it has worked for me. Open up control panel and go to uninstall programs. In the programs I found there was the synapse 3 and a synapse 2 both trying to function. I deleted both then reinstalled synapse 3 from the website and it is functioning once again. Clear audio! I believe the issue is it just installed synapse 3 instead of updating from synapse 2 and did not remove any old conflicting software.
This won't work for those of us that have products that razer won't support on Synapse 3. After 2 months of back and forth with unhelpful, late, and forgetful Razer support, Razer will tell you to essentially "go f*** yourself" if you have a slightly older product. They won't stand behind their own products. I will be taking my business directly to their competitors from now on. and no this is not slander I have the emails to showcase it.
