Razer Trinity Buttons Stop Working

I recently bought the Trinity mouse because it looked really cool to be able to switch between different style of mice without having to buy a new one. However, I've noticed a few issues with lighting at first, which I was easily able to fix by completely removing Synapse 2.0 from my computer and just using Synapse BETA.

There is one thing that's been frustrating me is that the buttons on the 12-key thumb grid seem to stop working from time to time. It's usually all buttons in a row, so 1,4,7,10 or 2,5,8,11, or 3,6,9,12 all seem to stop responding all at once. Which is very frustrating when you're in the middle of the game and have to have the whole party pause (I first noticed while tanking in WoW) for a few moments while I check. I've only had this mouse for about two weeks as well.

It seems like there's a few ways to fix this:

-First; make sure you only have one profile. For some reason if I have more than two profiles say one for WoW and one for Fallout 4 I see this issue persist. So delete all profiles and just use the default profile which is automatically your PC's name, example: mine is HYPERION-Default. Keep that one profile and edit the keybinds as needed before loading each game.

-Second; always unplug your mouse before removing and placing in a new plate. I wanted to try out the MOBA style plate as I've never used that type of mouse before and I left my mouse plugged in and I noticed that no buttons on my mouse, including left or right click would respond. So unplug the mouse from your PC, remove the plate, put it back on then plug in your mouse. That seemed to solve my issues for now.

On doing some reading I've seen that the issue might be that the magnetic connection and sensors could be causing this issue. I've made sure that everything is updated properly as well.

My questions for you are:

  • Has anyone else experienced a similar issue?
  • Did these steps work?
  • What else have you tried to get it to work?
  • What else could be the issue other than a poor connection between the plate and the mouse?
