From what I can tell any ZSilver you have now will expire on October, 31, 2018, Since that's when this expiry thing starts.
I think if you get ZSilver in say December 2017, It will expire December 2018, etc..

Interesting. I'm not sure I acquire zSilver correctly then. I've only really gotten any by playing games (Cortex) and the rewards and achievements from being an insider. I noticed I no longer receive points when playing WoW (which is too bad).

If it's meant to be a reward for the paid services then I guess it makes sense I'm not getting points much any more. lol

I think, that new rules are fair.
PS. I see that you added DA Elite & BlackWidow X TE... and not only, the Orochi seems great for me :) I have both the 1st edition and 2013, using it with my laptop :)

I think you guys should reconsider the expiration date. It takes a while foe people just to get enough silver for the items they want. Some of the items I want, I calculated i had to get the full amount of silver in a day for like 80-90 days. That is almost a 4th of a year and sometimes life gets in the way and you cant play that much. I think it would be wise to have no expiration date or multiple years at least.

I hear you there. I was so close and then the games switched up and playing CS:GO had me earn next to no zSilver for the whole of last month. I was like 2k away and now I have finally achieved it and the cup is gone lol unlucky I guess.

Expected it, most companies have this expiration process, it's such a bust! Wonder what they might do next...

How is it impossible? The highest valued item can still be earned in well under a year...

You are very close to being able to redeem for a mouse or keyboard. If points don't expire until September of 2018 and you are already at 80k then how could you not redeem for something?

There is currently a 300,000 cap in place.

    Personal thoughts:

While I don't really like having an expiration date (I would prefer saving up for exclusives since I already have a functioning Razer KBM), I do understand the need for putting the limitation in place. I really hope expiration can allow Razer to backtrack the changes they made in August so that people can play their favorite games and still earn zSilver.

Odds are thwere won't be many more exclusives, plus if you saved all the way up to sept '18 you would have another years worth of silver that would be expiring on a month by month basis.

I don't think many people are in the same boat as you (decked out with razer gear) so they won't be saving.

However it will mean if you are going for the big items line the blackwidow you can't mess about during the year to save up for it.

A year's worth of zSilver will not expire on a month to month basis. zSilver you earn this month will expire in September 2018, zSilver you earn next month will expire in October 2018... unless you spend zSilver then you won't lose any points to expiration.

Well in the end we are still getting free stuff from Razer by simply playing games, And not many if any other company's do this kind of thing.
I think they did this to possibly get people to buy more games using ZGold so they can make a bit of a profit, As like i have said before, It seems like this might be costing razer a fair bit of money.

They should ask those companies that put their games in the program to chip in. Why should Razer have to eat it all?

I don't think it would be such an issue if you went back to having all the games available to grind Silver but only have select games means that I won't always be able to gain via pay to play so my silver will become stagnant before I can use it if I'm saving up for a large ticket item.

Well saw it coming but I don't mind having a expiration date. I would like to see the Razer Ripsaw on the redemption page tough, I would grab that asap!

ok let's do the math here.... i don't like to do it but looks like it has to be done so that you can see how great this new system to make us redeem our zsilver....

so in the best case that every day you can maximize your zsilver which means it's 900.... then in a month you can get about 27k (assume 1 month is 30 days) and so in a year yo get 324k in total.... with that amount you can redeemed anything on the vault so don't complain you can't get anything from it....

now let's talk about the expiration date.... let's say you started this month, it means by the end of september you will get 27k which expiration date is at september 2018.... and then continue to your next month in october you also got 27k, does that mean 54k total you got will expired at september 2018??? of course not, only 27k at september got expired, the 27k you got at october 2017 will expired at october 2018, and so for the following month... so if you collecting your zsilver for a year until september 2018 and you couldn't redeemed it then you only lost 27k and not all of zsilver you collect it.... it means that the zsilver earning is limited to maximum a year which is 324k in total....

hope my explanation is correct and can help you to understand this new system.... for me no worry at all....

Put it this way... you will not stop playing games even if there is no zSilver right? (there isn't any from the start, but we are still playing anyway). We are not losing anything here. So just keep playing and enjoy:big_grin_:.

They should ask the video game companies that put their games in the program to chip in free games as part of the prize pool. And like I mentioned above they should ask them to start chipping in more.

That way the financial burden ain't on Razer alone.

No one is arguing that's its a great system. I agree with you on that in spades!
That's my sticking point. For someone like me trying to play the system fair that 5 hour grind is to much. I tried to do it when SC2 was on the list, but I couldn't do it. It was total over load. I also thought it was stupid to let the game idle so I never hit that 900 mark towards the end. I want to relax when I'm gaming, not worry about hitting some number.
I'm sure your math is sound, but with the expiration date someone likes me feels rushed now. It's like I got to hit that number now otherwise I'm going to be left holding the bag. Or I might have to get something cheaper before these points expire. When there was no expiration date, I felt I could relax and play at my own pace and let my points accumulate to get something worth while. It sorta feels like Razer is sending mixed signals, one the one hand you got people who are working the system to fast, on the other hand Razer seems to want us to rush to spend our points.
I'll do whatever Razers says, as I've alluded to before its their game, they get to make the rules. No one is forcing us to play.

what i say is the best case scenario, if at your situation i doesn't matter actually... if you calculate your monthly earning, that earning have an expiration date for a year.... so if you only earn let say 900 zsilver in a month then in next year when you hit the expiration date and you still not redeemed it then you just lost it then....

i think it's not rushing... the point of view in this new system is that you always hit that 900 mark a day... even if you not hit that mark at least in a year if you still playing games that have zsilver on it, you still can get 100k plus... so in a year you still can redeemed something from vault... i know you hate math but try to calculate your average monthly earning, and then you know it's not rushing at all...

Wow thanks for the BW X TE. I'm sure it's going to be the most popular reward this month.

Ya, I guess you're right explaining it that way. I just hope Razer puts out a collectible before that Oct. 2018 window! I wonder if it's going to be that toaster?

But I still stick by my stance that those other companies should start chipping in. It's only good for the rest us, Razer gets to loosen the vault a little more if they can pull that off! :cool_:
