Hello Bay Area cosplayers and cosplayers around the Bay Area! Join us at RazerStore San Francisco on Sunday, October 29th from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM dressed as your favorite video game character! Come in, show off your crafting skills, and exchange tips with other local cosplayers throughout the evening! Cosplay judging will be based on two categories: Workmanship and Performance. Workmanship: Entrants are judged on both the overall appearance and the construction quality of their cosplay. If an outfit includes a combination of created and purchased items, any purchased pieces must be disclosed to the judges during the prejudging portion of the evening. Performance: Entrants are judged on their representation of their character and stage presence; i.e. how well they can act like their character and how well they present themselves in character. There will be prizes awarded to first, second, and third place winners. This competition will not have a skit section for performance due to time and space constraints. There will, however, be a small "stage" area where you will show off 1-2 character poses for photos during the competition. Depending on the amount of participants and time constraints, we may or may not allow music accompaniment during your turn on stage. Prepare a 30 second - 1 minute music clip on a USB stick to go along with your character poses. Make sure the music clip spans enough time for you to you walk up to the "stage", do your poses, and walk off. What you can expect on the day of the contest: Before Halloween: All participants are required to register by filling out a form on Google Docs. Registration deadline is on Oct 30, 11:59pm. On Halloween: Sign-in from 3:30pm-4:30pm. Prejudging from 3:30pm-4:30pm. We will take an up-close look at each cosplayer's costume. We will be inspecting the crafting quality of the outfit and props, as well as chatting with you to learn the story and efforts that went into creating your cosplay. We can even start prejudging whenever you arrive at the store, if you get here earlier than the sign-in time and the judges are not busy. Contestants should line up at the street entrance starting at 4:15pm. Contest will start at 4:30pm. You will be photographed performing your character poses in front of the THS logo. The photos may be uploaded to social media or Razer Insider Forums. Judging will take place ideally at or before 6:00pm. This will allow for 20 mins of deliberation between the judges, 20 mins for announcing the winners and handing out the prizes, and the last 20 mins for taking photos of the winners with their prizes, a group photo of all the cosplayer participants, and other last-minute photo-taking.
