I'd just like to say that I too am on my second replacement for the blade stealth charger after the first one stopped working a month in, and am having allllll of the above issues. screen flashing, sometimes it doesn't charge if the lid is closed, sometimes it doesn't charge even if its open, the charger is THE MOST flimsy POS i've ever encountered in a laptop which is a shame considering how much we all paid, and it makes a high pitch squealing noise when it is working.

fix your stuff razer, this is ridiculous.

  2. If I breathe on my cable it disconnects. Wiggling it a bit makes it start working again. I hope the problem lies in the cable (or plug) and not the port on my computer.

They're sending a new charger, so I'm hoping that fixes it.

I've encountered this problem with multiple chargers. Easy (but annoying) solution - Leave your computer plugged in and unplug and re-plug the 3-prong "mickey mouse" cable to the power brick. For some reason, this fixes the issue and the computer will charge again. I have to do this every once in awhile.

when you guys request new chargers, do you have to send the old one back or do they just send a new one, meaning less downtime?

Seems like everytime I shutdown now, take Stealth, use, and come back to recharge I have to unplug/replug. Software issue? Charger Issue? Who knows, there is no support answer except send out another one. Just like the Core it seems the any issue is swept away or blanketed.

  6. They send the new one right away to get you up and running, but they do expect you to then return the old one.

My new charger is here, and it seems to have solved my issues, at least for the moment!

I think I may have frayed my old charger, so every time I lift my stealth in the air, it would stop charging. But I got a new one, and that works fine, will be extra careful though.
  8. I got a replacement, and it's already cutting out intermittently. They must have a design or manufacturing problem here.

At least now that I have the Core I can say for sure that it's not the USB-C port on the computer, because that thing keeps a rock-solid connection (as long as I don't try to use a 2.4ghz wifi connection...).

I can confirm this works. I had the same problem as all of you, but unplugging this connector works every time. I don't know why.
  10. Charger #2 is definitely defective. Same thing as you guys/gals; unplugging either from the wall or the brick does the trick (and saves too much wear on the computer's usb-c port), but that's not much of a solution. I'm looking at 3rd party chargers now.

I'm going to exchange this one, too, but I don't feel like going through this song and dance forever if they can't say that they've actually made a change in how they produce these things.

Wow that is the most bizarre fix, but I can confirm it works. Reconnecting the usb-c to the laptop does not work, but this did for some strange reason...I've got a google ac adapter coming in so I'm hoping that will be the end of my problems with the charger.
  12. Hey how is thing going on to your guys now? My razer blade got the same issue today. More than that, the charger is not registered as being plugged in. I bought a 3rd party charger from amazon. Hope that would work

totally just tried that and it worked for me thanks! hopefully i don't have to do it every time. i did also do a reboot of my system and that seemed to work as well when having this problem.

Rebooting didn't work for me, but removing and reinserting the "mickey mouse" cable into the power brick did the trick for me. I hope I won't have to do this too often.

I have to do the "re-plugging" trick every so often too. Problem continues with two replacement chargers.
I'm almost certain that this is something on the chargers end, as the charger makes a distinct noise for me when it is having its problem. I can essentially listen to the charger and predict if it will work when I plug it into laptop. I wonder if it's the same for you all?

Sorry to tell you all, but you will have to re plug your charger to the wall power outlet every time. Otherwise it will not charge, at least that's my issue.

  18. It is been just 3 days I have my Razer stealth with me and now it is already having the symptoms that you guys mentioned about the charger of this razer stealth in this thread.

Now I am wondering whether that Innergie Power Gear USB C 45 Adapter would solve the charger problem until right now? If yes, I think I will just buy it right away because asking for the charger replacement from Razer customer service would be such wasting time.

I have two stealths and three chargers and it all works 100% so long as you plug the laptop first and then the wall, which is somewhat annoying. If you leave it plugged into the wall there is a chance of "lights on but doesn't charge".

I think the charger goes into some sort of wacky low power mode that it can't get out of if left plugged in without a laptop for some length of time. Hoping a software/charger firmware update will eventually fix it, it's too consistent to be a hardware issue IMO.

If the core does not have this issue, fine by me. But mine is still on backorder :/ If I had known about this I would have bought a 3rd party charger instead. But the razer ones are only $50 which seemed like a good deal at the time. Since I'm ranting, also wish the cord was shorter. And not made out of that crappy fabric. But only half of it? It is a curious device... was initially dissapointed that the light was on the charger itself and not the plug which makes it difficult to see, but the light is on even when it isn't working, so whatever.

MrOzzy: great idea! I can charge my phone, ipad, watch, AND laptop with one charger! This will greatly reduce the rats nest in my overnight bag!

Sounds like it could be a grounding short in the brick. Razer should replace these at no charge once they fix, but in the mean time people may want to invest in a better third party charger.
