Greetings fellow Insiders!! I've had a few people message me over both private conversation here or in Comms and I thought perhaps I'd just make a post here to address a few concerns and toss out a couple reminders. First up: I've had a few folks talk about "Hey, I thought posts on Insider were supposed to full of content, contributing to the community and not one-liners or one-word responses?" This is absolutely correct!! There do seem to be many, many posts these days that just one-liners or one-word responses that could just as easily make use of the "Like" button instead of creating a whole new post for it. Another answer is to make a single post and address multiple people by either quoting them one at a time, or using the @ symbol to tag them, and then making only one post to respond to multiple people. This also helps to keep threads down to fewer pages which encourages newer folks to read them and be more willing to catch up. Secondly: I've also had numerous people make comments such as "I can't wait until I have as many posts as you so that I can be a moderator too." Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but post count isn't how/why folks were chosen to be volunteer community moderators. Furthermore, it's a program that is still in it's infancy and we're working out kinks and bugs with it on a regular basis. I'm sure that whenever the Razer staff feels that we've got a great system down then they'll consider adding in further moderators, but those people will be chosen based on specific criteria, and I don't think that post count will be a high consideration. Having made those two points, I'd just like to remind everyone that your post quality is far more important than your quantity, so please keep that in mind every time you make a post. Make use of the "Like" button and consolidate as much info into each posting as you can to avoid having multiples in the same thread in quick succession. Thanks so much for making Insider such a fantastic place where everyone is welcome!! Edit: I'm seeing far too many folks posting one response after the other in the same thread instead of just making one post with multiple responses / quotes. Sure, us moderators can "Merge Posts" and clean up after stuff like that, but should we really have to?? Please make sure you all read the Posting Guidelines and The Razer Insider House Rules to ensure that you're not breaking the rules. Unfortunately, for people with multiple offenses we will eventually have to take action and issues warning points (which causes you to not be able to see the Insider Rewards page for the duration of the warning until it expires) and in extreme cases breaking rules could potentially lead to bans, and no one wants that to happen!! Please, please, please read (or re-read) the rules carefully. Edit #2: While this is not directly related to quality or quantity, I want to make a special request that people use the name tagging a lot less often when it comes to Razer staff members, except for Technokat and Halcyon. It is their job to help manage the community, but the other Razer staff members who occasionally stop in and help us out are not directly affiliated with Insider, they're just being kind and stopping by to be extra helpful. So please don't tag them or abuse their kindness.
