Review of Paid to Play

  1. paid to play is a good way to make other games more fun to play. It creates more experience than sticking to an esports title type of game. It could introduce some games that is not typically played like when battlerite came in the January Paid to Play Feature of the month I got hang of it. I always play it now.

    So do I want/need to use whatever silver I have now? I’m assuming they won’t update the zsilver store with new items. Am I wrong?
     
  3. This is so sad and a bad news for all. Those MF who complain and whine about shipping free item is too expensive has successfully ruin this P2P. good job. Thanks to Razer i've earn my free mouse! :D please do not shutdown this p2p.

    You can use it now or save it until it expires, the zVault isn't going away. Just the Paid to Play part of it.

    Its absolutely insane the entitlement people feel they have for absolutely no reason. I got a keyboard from you guys through this program and I couldnt be any more stoked about it. In fact typing on it now. Beautifully lit up and responsive. People need to be ashamed at who they are when offered a free program.

    Agree! It's kind of forced me to try out new games instead of the same old, same old all the time.

    To all the negative nancys out there whom i blame for this suspension -- this is your lesson. When ppl give you something for free, you smile and you say Thank You!

    Couldn't possibly be angry about something I don't have a right over. But I admit, I'm incredibly sad. Especially with the huge price increase rendering stuff out of reach.

    Thanks for the program though. I really enjoyed having dreamy hopes and daily targets (even made a calendar :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:)

    Those those still asking, zSilver program isn't being changed, only Paid to Play. Meaning you can still redeem your zSilver, but can't earn it by playing games. But, unless something else comes up, the zSilver you have is basically it, earning not really possible anymore.

    I tried so hard to collect enough zSilver for Razer product and now it's suspended... As I'm so close for my Razer product, can I ask, why I can't redeem it in my country? People can redeem it in any neighbor country, just except Lithuania??

    Thanks you @mltan . Its unfair for people like me that has saved zsilvers since the start of this program, but if this the only way to keep on line the people that raged against you and your team I will support your deccision. The pity is that I guess I can't redeem my points for a mouse because I dont have enougth points :sob:.I hope you work on a solution soon and dont lose the desire to continue with this, because you're the only person who has concerned about giving us the opportunity to get the best gadgets.

    First off - for all of you folks who say that Min is suspending the P2P program because of complaints then you just aren't reading very carefully. While it certainly affected the decision what impacted it more was that he said some of his staff had received death threats over the current program, and that will NOT be tolerated.


    This is mostly untrue - we mods do remove some posts, but never just because they were negative. However, if a post uses foul language, attacks someone or in some other way violates the forum rules then we will most certainly remove it. Our rules even state that we will not remove posts just because they're negative, but rather constructive criticism that encourages healthy conversation is encouraged.

    This is inaccurate. He said he's suspending the program effective March 1st. Then in a later post he said that if all he sees are even more complaints then maybe it's just not worth the time to figure out a new system. He never said that he was officially scraping the program altogether.

    In some areas I'll agree with you that there is a lack of communication - however, when it comes to the zSilver redemption prices I completely disagree. They did announce the change when it was implemented, it was communicated right away. Also, seeing as how this information only pertains to free items I don't think we really have the room to complain about changes they make to the program, folks should just be glad there's a program at all, so however they choose to implement it or change it is at Razer's discretion.

    I've said this in many places, but it doesn't seem to be seen by enough people. Razer pays a third party company, Digital River, to warehouse and ship their products. So, even if Razer gives you the item for free you can not expect Digital River to give away their services for free as well. You getting the item for free is between yourself and Razer, Digital River is going to expect to be paid regardless and asking Razer to absorb all those costs for shipping is absolutely ridiculous.

    I'm not sure which official staff you're talking about, because I'm the ONLY staff/mod that's ever made that claim. And, yep, you better believe I actually do it too! However, just because I read every post does not mean I have the answer for everything that is asked. And, I'll be quite brutally honest, if it's something I think is completely unreasonable to begin with then I'll read it, shake my head and move on. I am not going to spend time answering the same questions over and over and over and over and over again. Furthermore, if it's support related then currently at this time Razer Insider is NOT a support forum and and we do not generally respond to support questions, instead we direct people to the correct places to get help. But anyway, I digress, no one except myself has ever said they read every single post in every single forum. So, unless you're speaking to me directly then you're definitely mistaken.

    Also, I want to make clear, yet again, that the moderators here on Insider are unpaid volunteers. There's only a small number of official staff members who are assigned to "police" Insider and keep it running. While there are more who contribute and offer significant help there are really only two official staff members, that I'm aware of, who are assigned here as part of their job.

    Razer products are most certainly not made by other companies. lol -- they put a lot of effort into R&D and make every effort to create the best products for gamers. Not sure where you got the idea that they don't even make their own products.

    Now, after that huge posting I'm going to point out how many complaints and how much negativity has been displayed in just this thread alone - so, what do you all think has been happening since the P2P program was originally implemented? If something so small as "we're going to suspend the program until further notice so we can try to make it better" instigates this much upset, just imagine what's been going on through all the other changes. It's just crazy.

    Please keep in mind that Min never said that the program was going away forever - yet - just that he needed to consult with his staff to find a way to make it better and hopefully keep more people happy. Don't make this an issue that snowballs into something so big that he instead decides that it's just not worth working on it at all. If that happens then you just might see the P2P program disappear forever after all.

    Take a deep breath, relax, go play games and have fun - just like we all did prior to a P2P program even existing. :big_grin_: :cool_:

    Umm... Hey @mltan? May I ask you to please consider rolling back the prices (to Pre-Jan) after this change? Or atleast a price reduction? Not that you're required to but that'd be nice.

    quite mind boggling to me that there are people in this world who expect the shipping to be free as well and go then on to complain about it

    Razer is already giving you a FREE product

    It they can at least put the prices back before close P2P, it would be fair, increasing 25% all the prices and closing P2P 1 month after. Kind of a backstab even " RaZeR iS gIvInG FREE stUfF aNd yOur CompAiNing " , its still a backstab.

    This is grotesque. You see now, Min said that he will suspended the program 1st of March, I see 99% of the people want the program to stay. You say that Min isn't suspending the program because of complaints and yet in his post he is mentioning complaints as one of the reasons, among them death threats too. In conclusion, by closing the program wouldn't he expect even more complaints? Wouldn't he expect death threats also? Just wondering.

    I think some people are taking what was said too lightly. I would hardly classify death threats as "complaints". I hope the people responsible are arrested. In light of that alone I understand the need to re-evaluate the program.

    I don't think anyone classifies death threats as complaints. What people are saying is that one of the reasons Min mentioned was coplaints.

    I apologize, probably I miss the communication where the price of ZSilver was getting up.

    For shipping, I already knew that Razer uses a third company for those, but maybe there are other companies that can have more competitive prices.

    In my post I wrote that there could be a solution for this problem.

    I have serious doubts that if this was just complaints we would be seeing the p2p program paused. I've seen a lot of posts not mention the threats at all, just the complaints part. The threats shouldn't be minimized or taken out of the equasion like that. It's not pretty seeing people complain over a program to give gamers free gear (which costs razer money), but death threats take it to a whole other level that can't be ignored.

    Death threats for sure can't be ignored, specific measures must be taken. On the other hand by closing the program new death threats and new complaints will pop up to the surface. What I'm trying to understand, is that the real reason they are closing it?
