Thank you for your announcement to keep us informed. However currently I'm questioned into thinking that your focus is more of the negative side of P2P, yes, it can breed negativity but beneath that there is positivity. It's sad that your company is receiving death threats and the ones that are affected by this are the staff most importantly, who are only doing what they're ought to do.

Any other company can receive lots of love and positivity, but there is probably no company that never gets negativity in their company. But it'd be best if you focus on the positive side of P2P, and use the negativity around it to solve the issues surrounding P2P. Death threats should never be tolerated, but this shouldn't stop and demotivate the company. As for sure Razer has millions of fans and supporters

Will you make an announcement that provided P2P will be improved, will you inform us how long an announcement will come before a decision is made that it will be improved or suspended? Honestly though, for me this would only bring the company more complaints. But I understand your decision and hope we all can be happy and positive. Thanks for doing your best to make the community better.

Sounds good, sad to see it go but it's necessary.
Keeping the program as just Insider and zGold related will really help to simplify things and much less support needed from people on your guys end.
Plus there won't be dozens of threads about games not working.:big_grin_:

I gotta say there were times when I saw a game that was giving 3x silver and I was like "Ughhhh I wanted to play something else but I guess I'll play this instead." I feel like it sort of turned gaming into a decision/job instead of just an escape.
If I played what I wanted to play, I would have a sour feeling of "I'm not getting credit for this".
It's a tough problem, because on paper, it's a pure value-add. But psychologically, it is not enjoyable.

Does anyone else feel that way?

Seriously, are you guys at Razer that thinned skinned, this is the internet and it's full of keyboard warriors who would piss their pants if given a stern look. "Death Threats" is this really what you're going with, such an easy thing to solve with the authorities, you already have their email addresses, I'm sure that the authorities can be at their home in no time if they would take this seriously. Really the only ones out there that would be stun enough to be getting on with death threats are only dumb 10-year-olds.

I'll surmise that what really happened is that there was an overwhelming amount of attention that this program received and that it went way over and above what was expected and that the amount of product that is awarded is way over projections. Personally, I was surprised that it was this long that no major changes to the p2p didn't happen. I also stated before that abuse will happen with systems like this, that's just the net and the way it works.

I'm sure that something had to change, a company just can't pass out free product at the rate I'm thinking that Razer is (I have no idea but expect that it's well above a sustainable quota). So this is not surprising me one bit to see it get suspended/canceled, I know something has to change. It should be clear as to what I'm really surprised with by my opening paragraph, in all honesty, I would have gone with something else. I'm not doubting that death threats were received, nothing pleasant to receive for sure but I would have a hard time to take it seriously, especially for a free p2p program. And if there was something substantial within them just pass it to the authorities.

The way I see it is Razer will do what Razer needs to do and if there is a similar program in its future that it will be more sustainable, looking to see where this is heading. Either way, it won't change my thoughts of Razer, innovative and quality products.

There are definitely ways to make it sustainable*, I'm imagining Razer is not a Cost Leader making razor-thin (pun intended) margins. Pouring some profit back into good will for the company is a reasonable thing to do. Also, I'm sure they allocate x amount of product each month/quarter to be given away. After it's out, it's out. I'll bet that's why they added a bunch of digital goods to the program.

I think this program, however well intended, brought out a bad side of many people. Before, it was an out of sight, out of mind thing. There's no path for me to get that Blackwidow keyboard, so it won't bug me. Now a bunch of people with a lot of time on their hands are shown a way to grind towards getting something big. When reality sets in, they equate that with Razer teasing them, giving them something and then taking it away.

I think they will keep updating the catalog and restocking, since the rest of the ZVault program and such is still going to be going on even though paid to play would be down. I expect that they will say something about it on a ZVault post coming up soon though.

Just give us a heads up on major changes, that's all that's been asked in this thread. I really don't understand the need to suspend the whole program when this is what people want.

I guess it's one bad apple to ruin everything, huh?

side note: now everybody is cashing out and more people are going to be upset because everything will be out of stock lol

Everyone is looking at @Razer hands but I'm wondering where are those who threatened Razer Staff. If it was me who would make decisions, I would suspend them not P2P program. Permanently.

As You can see whining is not a speciality for only one nation, but have to agree that we're good at it ;).
The world is full of selfish, greedy, the one and only personas, and You can't change it.
Our job is to stand against them and show that there's also another way, even if it's like fighting the windmills.

@mltan - I actually agree with the suspension of the program and/or the shutdown of the program based on what the team figures out. However, that then raises two questions for me:

    1) Will a different primary zSilver earner replace the P2P program?

    2) If something else does not replace it then it could take much longer to earn zSilver, if that's the case could we remove the expiration dates again?

Thanks so much for listening to everyone and doing the best you can for the community as a whole. You are, by far, the most involved CEO I've seen. (and I'm not a spring chicken, I'll be 45 this year. lol)

I'll be relooking at the program and will see how we can design it in the best interest of the community. zSilver will remain our core loyalty points system and in short, it will continue to reward all members of the Razer community. As to the specifics, I'll make sure we do formal updates to all once we roll it out.

I love the Paid to Play program, it really make razer stood out from the rest of their peers. But I would totally agree with the previous idea with limiting access to those that already own a razer product. In a way, it would boost sales for a bit because it can be considered an investment or promotion of some kind, since buying a razer product will let them collect points to buy another one of their choice. If that makes any sense, sorry for my bad english.
I also think it would greatly reduce the negativity that are produced by unwanted user that only use the program just to make a quick profit.

This is in conflict with the idea of paid to play. They wanted to give a chance for a people that cannot afford razer gear to get some. And I can bet that most of haters have some of razer gear so decision like that can can harm these people which dont have any razer gear but appreciate chance they got and often provide positive feedback on insider

It was a good way to make favor/contribution to gaming society.
Because of this system, it make the gamer/quit gamer have their interested back toward the gaming world. At least it works on me :) thanks to Razer.
