SOS: Razer Kraken Kitty Headphones Disconnect On The Regular.

Hello! My name is Eoin. I recently made a post on the MSI reddit. MSI are the company involved in making my motherboard, the MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard. As detailed in this post, https://www.reddit.com/r/MSI_Gaming/comments/mgxeyw/b450_tomahawk_max_potential_root_cause_for_my_usb/ .

I have ran into an issue where my Razer Kraken Kitty Headphones disconnect and reconnect regularly to a point that makes it really difficult to do my job, work on college, and socialize!

It may be worth reading this post, but I will summarize the main points here that lead me to the Razer Support Forum!

- I noticed that my USB devices, such as my keyboard , mouse and headphones (Razer Kraken Kitty's) were disconnecting and reconnecting. The RGB in my keyboard and headphones would also turn off.

- These periods of disconnection could last from three seconds up to a minute and could occur every few seconds, or even have hours in-between where my devices would work perfectly. Initially, I found that plugging my pc into a wall socket instead of an extension lead fixed the issue for a few weeks, maybe from mid December until late February. I brushed it off as a mere electricity input vs output energy issue! However, a few weeks ago my issue came back with a vengeance.

- I have checked my devices, my headphones 'Razer Kraken Kitty' were working perfectly on other computers at December. *HOWEVER*, the Razer Kraken Kitty headphones *now* act up on other computers. There also isn't a particular USB port on my own computer that is acting up, no matter where a device is plugged it is victim to this issue.

--In the case of the Razer Kraken Kitty's, this issue persists even if Razer Synapse 3.0 is closed or disabled

If anyone has encountered issues similar to me, I do recommending reading my reddit post linked above also, please let me know if you had a fix - not matter how temporary - or if you could never encounter a fix and have been plagued by this issue also.

Thank you so much for reading! I am new to reddit and support forums, but if I can edit I will add more information to this post as I find some, or if the issue for me evolves even more.

Edit 23/04/2021;
- Interestingly, I do remember my Razer Kraken Kitty's making a really loud "pop" sound that scared me and I believe my issues started around the same time. Reading a comment on my post reminded me of this experience. This loud pop still occurs from time to time, but it might be something to note!
- Also worthy to note, the headphones disconnecting, and my other devices disconnecting, can be triggered by moving the headphone cords by head movement?

I am also encountering this issue. I haven't used the headset on another device yet, but I am getting this issue with my MSI motherboard as well. It is affecting everything I seem to have plugged into the usb ports. It started Tuesday for me as well, which I believe corresponded to a Razer Update.
I've also ran into this issue again after the synapse update, I initially had this issue around 7 months ago, and it got to the point where my only solution was to contact support for a replacement headset, which this current one has lasted me for 7 months, and now we're back to where I was with the constant disconnects.
I am having the same issue too, the first months it started disconnecting for 1-2 seconds when there was a loud sound, and after time, it started to disconnect for anything, and i think that issue fucked the whole usb connection because when i move it now, it disconnects everytime, BE CAREFUL GUYS. I feel so bothered because i spent 170$ in this headphones! and i can't use them anymore because this issue.
I have the same exact issue. Anyone figured out a solution?

I have not found a fix for myself yet personally!

However, depending on your motherboard some newer models have within the past few days have gotten a patch called 'AGESA 1.2.0.1 Patch A' and I have heard from some sources on twitter that it has totally fixed their USB problems, for now anyways!

If you are able to, I don't know what motherboard you have but it would be worth checking to see if you can update your motherboard "BIOS" - for example I use ' https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B450-TOMAHAWK-MAX '.

I hope that the update is available for you if possible! I'm still waiting out hoping that these manufacturers get to my edition soon.

Heyhey! It might be worth checking out my response to the user 'Kaella' on this thread, it might also apply to you too!!

Depending on how soon you look too, there may also be developments on the reddit post in linked in my initial post here, that might also help you!

Hey! Thanks so much for your reply.

It perfectly matched up with what I once experienced! You made me remember of a loud popping sound that scared me a few months back right before I ran into these problems.

I was also having a gut feeling that movement of the headphones cord could be disconnecting my headphones also, and I'm sure that after many many simply natural movements of my head, and sometimes my arm moving the cord, the headphones suspiciously matched up with my headphones, keyboard, mouse and microphone disconnecting.

Sorry to hear that the issue came back a second time for you. Hopefully all these issues can be fixed soon. I think I might try getting onto support for a replacement headset just to see what happens, but I fear it will end up starting all over again and is a result of both internal and external sources. 😕
We have this also a since a few weeks.......

Unfortunately this HAS to be a Razer Synapse software issue. I've been dealing with the same exact issues for over a year now. I've had my whole computer checked out and there was not an issue. I uninstalled and reinstalled Razer Synapse many times (also uninstalled all my Razer devices) and nothing, still disconnected and reconnected. I treated my headphones with so much care and Razer Support labeled my problem as a hardware issue and sent me a new pair of Razer Kraken Kitty Editions. Now the new pair worked for a few months and then they started disconnecting and reconnecting again. I've tried everything and to be honest Razer doesn't see a problem with their software. There's been threads left open with no solutions from Razer for years now. The only time the headphones work and don't disconnect is when Synapse is uninstalled. But then why pay all that money for something you don't get any of the benefits for? It's very frustrating. So if anyone has any other solutions I'm willing to try but at this point I'm about to get new peripherals because the disconnect and reconnect is so frequent... ALSO for anyone contacting Razer Support you will need a video of the headphones (or any other peripherals) disconnecting and reconnecting. Best of luck for everyone with this issue, I understand how frustrating it is!

Some things I've tried but haven't worked for me (maybe they'll work for you):

download uninstaller cleaner - most of insider using ( ccleaner ) to clean all your registry leftovers after you uninstall program.
uninstall synapse.
go to search box and type device manager
and uninstall all razer device manually - on device manager there is listed all your device that have been connected to your PC. for example mice. click mice option and drop down you will see razer device from there.

after you uninstall your razer device ( mice, keyboard, headset, etc that you have. open your cleaner and clean from registry. once you finish all that. dissconnect all your razer device and restart your PC.
once your pc ready re install synapse 3 and then re connect 1 device at the time. and let synapse do the work. remember 1 device at the time, -Mr.Nobody-

I had the same issue with my Razer Kraken Kitty Edition but it works fine after disabling USB settings. Search "Edit power plan" > Change advanced power settings > USB settings > USB selective suspend setting > On battery: Enabled (switch to disable) > Plugged in: Enabled (switch to disable)
