I felt very disappointed from sound quality of nommo chroma. There are 4 preset sound modes but all sound mudded, sound is so dull no high (treble) frequencies. Im listening to classical and retro music 80s 70s etc and even at music preset sound is horrible. I do have a soundblaster Zx and not a cheap or an onboard sound card. My old creative gigaworks T40 sounded much much better even try the blaster Katana soundbar and that one also is below average for music. Still have a couple of days to be able to return these speakers if not satisfied which I am not and order online the new gigaworks t40. If choose other modes music quality is unacceptable, in games same if I choose music mode and some games do not sound good at all in any mode. Movies are much worse than games hard to understand the dialogs. A fully customizable EQ is needed. Sound is so annoying that in high volumes ( I have to set volume below 30%) it really hurts my ears it feels that a needle is puncturing my ears. Fortunately old gigaworks do work for a few minutes then one speaker stops and by using them (I still switching to those for a couple of minutes connected with the 3.5 jack cable and Nommo on USB only one pair is used not both simultaniously) I still can compare the difference which is sky high.

Wierd. From the reviews I've seen before, everyone was saying that they were happy with the sound quality.
Albeit, the Gigaworks T40 do look more impressive, with 2 mid range and 1 high range drivers per speaker, while Razer Nommo has only 1 full range per speaker.

I have Nommo Chroma for more than a month, and I have nothing to complain about it. Truth to be told, I didn't try them in different scenarios like you did, I just plugged them in and played games / watched movies. I am very pleased with the sound.

In modern music are ok punchy bass. In oldies likes 80s and classical unacceptable have to adjust sound through vlc player equalizer then it was good but unacceptable in other cases like games so this time have to adjust through razer synapse and still not good for me, dull sound. Speakers return and now order online the new gigaworks 2 T40. It is obvious that from just one speaker you can not have all sound frequencies. Either it will pump the low or the high all it is impossible.
