[Status update] Blade 2016 shipment

  1. @j0nny852 - Mine was ordered April 3rd, and before I cancelled my order, it was the ambiguous "ships from May 25th".

    Honestly, it seems like some people that ordered in March still haven't gotten any communication. Some people that ordered in March already have it on the way or already have it.

    Personally, their systems don't seem to by accurately and uniformly synched, and seems like some balls are even being dropped.

    If I was going to follow through and buy one, from what I've seen on this post, I'd cancel my Razer order and roll the dice camping the Microsoft Store. And even some of those people have had the ball dropped by MS, but seems to me like the odds of getting one sooner than later is through Microsoft as of today, May 19th.

    i would go ms but since I'm a student and don't have paypal I'm forced to stay with razer and even if I had PayPal I don't have time to camp out ms I wish my blade would just ship
  3. @j0nny852 - Totally agree bro. There is something very odd about being relegated to purchasing and receiving a product from a 3rd party when you already had a tacit agreement for a considerable amount of time with said 3rd party's source.

    What about Amazon it says 2-5 weeks until shipping and I want to order it in a week could anyone help me by telling me when it will be shipping because if there is. A new wave by March 31 I could order it now and get it the right?

    March 31st has passed.

    No one knows anything about amazon getting them in stock, other than the 2-5 weeks that you stated.

    Maybe you don't understand. No one really knows when Amazon is going to get the Blade. Right now it just says it is a 2-5 week wait.

    So a comment about the keyboard. I do love the clicky keys. I find I'm a keyboard snob and don't usually enjoy typing on laptops because the usual squishy key or non existent travel. I find that this keyboard is just clicky enough to keep me happy and the travel is not super low like on the stealth. One point of constructive criticism is that I wish the symbols and alt key options were also lit up. Not that I'm searching much while typing but typing and trying to find a certain function is a bit cumbersome. The LEDs don't light it so much that you can see those symbols in low light and the fact that the color of the symbols etc is actually a gray doesn't help.

    Edit: It also doesn't help that the symbols are under the letter as apposed to above. when typing my fingers hide the symbols which may contribute to my criticism.

You rock Technokat, the intelligent ones around here completely understand the scope of what you are trying to do here, and I think that I read that you aren't even a paid employee, but just donating your time here? (perhaps unsubstantiated). You are underpaid and honestly I bet it would take an entire team of people to keep up with the level of frustration this pre-order situation has created, let alone just you. Hopefully my post helps people understand what you are up against. It's hard to do that sometimes when you feel you are being mistreated to begin with. All of it adds up to a crappy situation for everyone here, Razer, its employees, the Insider crew, the customers, the fans, and lurkers.

    I feel your pain, keep your chin up, I'm sure this will all calm down at some point once things are all caught up.

    Nope. I am a paid employee - official staff are marked by the Staff banners on our avatars. It isn't frustrating per se that we have a bunch of disappointed customers, it is more of us working to be able to pick up speed (which we are doing now) and get the Razer Blades to as many people as fast as we can.

    I'm working on an update now and I'll post it once ready.

  15. @Razer|Technokat I ordered on April 1st and it says on the oder status page that it will shipping from May 20th (tomorrow) can you check into mine and give me a more hard set date then from May 20th 2016 to infinity? Thanks! Order #-

    Tracking number at Microsoft finally came through! Will be requesting my 512 order from Razer on 4/9 to be cancelled. Like others in early April its showing shipping from 5/20 instead of 5/25...

    Encouraged to see a lot of shipping activity from Razer too, just couldn't wait any longer...
  17. For those of you who are on the fence about ordering from MS, I ordered my 256 on Wednesday afternoon and it will be arriving at my house Friday morning. Once I received the tracking number yesterday afternoon from MS I tried calling Razer CS to cancel my order. After being bounced around to several different 1-888 numbers I said screw it and sent a request through their website. I received two emails late this afternoon stating that my order was canceled and my card would not be charged. Waiting almost 24 hours for a response on a plus $2000 purchase is a bit ridiculous.

    Your card was not charged but if there was a pre-authorization fee placed, it will fall off between 3 to 5 business days.

    I agree with the other posters on this forum that Razer seems to make a great product that people love, but the online buying experience is just awful. It's also frustrating that a company who markets themselves as a competitor to some of the biggest brands out there doesn't even have an easily found order support number to call if your having an issue. It appears that Razer outsources their online sales and ordering process to DR globalTech Inc. Maybe it's time to bring that function in house or hire a new company. Just my two cents....

    So just swapped out the drive. Total time it took in all was about 1.5 hours. The physical swap took 10 minutes the rest of the time was just waiting for the boot drive to be created and the actual installation of Windows etc.

    Man this drive is fast! I can tell just from the boot times. It was fast before it is lightening now!
