It depends if you need it now or later. Who really needs all the power of a pascal in a laptop? Just plug it into the core when your home.

Current time: buy 256GB version, upgrade to 950 Pro 512GB... Happiness ensues... Until...

May 2017, sell RB 2016 on eBay...

Buy new 2017 Razer Blade with Pascal to plug into your Core with Pascal 1080...

Deep regrets as you ponder how capable the 970m (for a laptop) was anyway and how the Core augmented your desktop needs...

Longing for Volta begins to eat at you, second guessing past buying decisions, should have waited... [begin Rationalization phase of upgrade ]

    ...(Yr = Yr + 1; Repeat loop)...

how does it kill a desktop when you can put a 1080 in a more powerful desktop? :\

thats like saying who really needs a ps4 when the ps3 is out. Better question is who really needs to spend an additional 1000 dollars on a core / gpu combo when a 1070/1080m can run everything at ultra (in theory).

As great as pascal looks, nothing yet is guaranteed for the mobile, let alone
Just ask yourself, does a 970m do what you want it to do? I mean really think about it. When it comes down to it, I wanted the blade for portability WITHOUT sacrificing performance. My current laptop has a 765m and I've only had like 2 instances where I thought I needed more GPU power. If a 970m does the job, don't wait around for an overkill graphics card you don't need and start having fun today!

I was reading her review while drinking a refreshing coca cola- the amber nectar completely quenching my thirst- when I noticed the 4k screen on which she watched the new Transformers trailer was indeed a 3k screen.

The PM951 was getting benches of about 1600 read, the 950 pro is over 2K reads like 2200 i think. You are not going to be able to notice that much. Especially when 500 dollar 850 pro's are still only 500 M/B read in every other laptop considered top of the line. The drive in the blade is badass.

Also just buy the 512 so you dont void your warranty. If something goes wrong you will save money that way.

The GTX 1080 () does not have HBM so I'm 99.999% sure the mobile GTX 1080m and GTX 1070m will not have HBM. The wait would be almost a year just to get a marginal upgrade, I'd rather buy it now. The only thing stopping me from ordering the new Razer Blade 14 (2016) is that it doesn't ship to Canada when you buy from Amazon.

I just typed it into google and got nothing but stuff about Nvidias GTX 1080, so I don't see how that is happening.

If you are typing it into an online store search engine, why would anyone expect it to return a laptop with pascal card right now?

    lol

Compile Error: you forgot to instantiate your Yr variable. lol

Nice logical sequencing. I have been planning the same thing, except I got the 512, and when I replace it with the 950 Pro, I'm going to throw that PM951 in my desktop. A 256GB drive is barely usable these days.

While you're laughing I'm dying on the inside... I've got quite a bit of amazon gift card balance and wanted to spend it on a blade, but for some reason Razer won't ship it to Canada (and they do ship the older model to Canada, in addition to the Stealth).
I hope someone from Razer pays some attention to the posts I've made, I really want to give them my money but it seems like they don't want it.

Dont the blades bought on Amazon still ship from Razer's warehouse in Cali? Meaning buying one is just waiting till the 18th?

I wonder if the pascal would even be core compatible. Was there a price about how much the Pascal would cost?

I seen that a few days ago and laughed too. Prime can't help with that one.

My favorite part is how they use the word "Usually", as though it was in stock at one point. lol I understand why, I just find it ironic.

The prices are at the bottom row of the pic. I want to know how much that GP100 will be. I assume that will be the Gtx 1080 Ti?

I sure hope so. Sadly I still can't order it since they won't allow it to ship to Canada...

  18. Hey all. So I purchased the 256 blade 14. Is it possible down the road to upgrade the SSD on this thing or does that void the warranty? If I wanted to bump it up to a faster 512 which one should I get?

Yo should get the samsung 950 pro

I dont know bout the warranty tho

The warranty thing is kind of a gray area when it comes to upgrading components like the hdd. To be on the safe side, I would use the laptop as is for the first year until your warranty is expired. then you can put in a new drive without worry of voiding the warranty. As for a drive, currently the samsung 950 pro reigns supreme.
