Stealth 13 (2017) 5ghz band fail

Just unboxed this laptop brand new this week. Out of the box suffering massive wifi problems. It would connect, but disconnect the moment I'd do any browsing. I finally narrowed it down to the fact that the device cannot connect to 5Ghz at all (on any network) and stay connected. Going into the driver settings for this Killer adapter and preferring 2.4Ghz has resulted in a stable connection.

Is anyone else aware of this problem? I opened a support ticket prior to determining the issue with 5Ghz, but they only suggested updating drivers and factory resets. None of which had an impact. It's very much an inherent problem with the adapter or it's drivers. Google this adapter and Razer and all I get are posts about replacing the killer adapter with an Intel. Surely this device isn't this crippled? Is it a one-off problem with this particular unit? Or is this a complete fail of this entire product line?

I'd appreciate some insight from other owners. Thanks

You can try reddit for a fix. I saw someone else have similar issues with their device as well and they posted a solution to it. Or maybe the ended up in an RMA, not sure.

RMA might be your best bet now. I would start the Razer support ticket. Hopefully you dont have to send your laptop in for repairs.
