Just after updating to windows version 1903 (May 2019 Update), Synapse 2, according to Task Manager and Resource Manager (and a couple of other tools I use to monitor the processes on my laptop), shows a large amount of CPU usage, from 50% up to 100%, intermittently but constantly). This has been going on for about a week, I sent and email to support, but guess what? I didn't receive an email back. Has anyone experienced a similar issue? Before the upgrade Synapse was silent and quiet, now it makes my fans spin... My specs: BlackWidow Ultimate, Ouroboros, Kraken 7.1 V2 Intel i7 5500 8GB RAM I know this is a user forum, not an official support, I just ask if someone else is experiencing the same issues as me...
Oh totally the same issue, it's been pushing my fans to high for about a week, it's been lagging and hanging on menus since going to 1903. I have a 7th gen 7700T but it's still pushing it to full CPU power and about 20-30% at all times 24/7
Its not only with 1903, this problem started with 1803 back in October. Look here: https://insider.razer.com/index.php...ng-razer-synapse-2-0.45203/page-6#post-490680 Razer is ignoring us and in consequence we will ignore them in our next purchase.
as far as I found reading all these posts, it's only a problem, when using a Razer headset. Try without headset a a workaround. Someone can confirm ?
I only have a problem with CPU usage, when i close synapse 3 while im in the razer chroma studio tab, otherwise everything works fine.
It freezes and hangs when I am trying to select the wheel colors of my Epic Chroma mouse when I am adding a new game's profile and when I am trying to drop down to apply keyboard functions to the buttons. The menu will hang and sometimes won't allow me to select items from the dropdown once it actually populates. Plus the high CPU usage and I do have the headset as well but like the others said I need my razer headset as well pretty much all the time
Yeah unplugging the headset doesn't bring down the CPU for me, I'm running a Deathstalker Chroma keyboard, Naga Epic Chroma mouse and Kraken 7.1 V2 headset which is also chroma
Nope doesn't work, also it doesn't fix the problems with the Naga Epic Chroma not being able to assign functions to the keys or change the color selections in the profiles. It just hangs trying to use the drop down menus and even when it does show the drop down it won't let you select a function
ît fixes only 100% CPU. All other problems only fixes: don`t use Razer products, seriously ! Their drivers and programmings are mess ! And they don't get it to work, how long they try !
It's fine, they will fix it eventually, I'm not throwing away my razer stuff just because it uses 20% of my CPU, it's probably 100% on older processors right now
Well, I wrote an email to support and they suggested to completely uninstall and reinstall the product. So I did. And guess what? Nothing has changed. Furthermore, disconnecting my headset (Kraken 7.1) and rebooting does not fix the high CPU usage. I don't know why some people encountered this issue with 1803, while others like me got the issue after the update to 1903, but I think Microsoft is to blame like Razer as well. It seems that some changes in the OS was causing this. Razer or Microsoft should change some code in their products.
The same thing happened to me after the 1903 update. Synapse becomes virtually unusable with constant pauses in the app and also while using profiles inside a game (key presses hang for 2 seconds just like with menus in the software). I have no Razer headphones attached to this pc. I uninstalled and reinstalled synapse 2.0. No joy. The only solution was to revert back to my 1803 backup. Synapse works fine now. Needless to say... this blows. I cannot update to 1903 as it stands without breaking my synapse 2.0 install.
Yeah i totally agree, I'm still having the same issue for a couple weeks now since right after 1903. A big part of going to 1903 was the variable rate shading being added to directx 12 in 1903 specifically which isn't part of 1803 and won't be added after https://www.techspot.com/news/79258...ariable-rate-shading-directx-12-bringing.html Ignore the results since it was taken the day of the release so there was no NVIDIA optimization yet at the time https://www.techpowerup.com/255843/...1-titles-with-rtx-2080-ti-and-radeon-vii?cp=1
Thanks for this. I am reinstalling update 1903 and will post my results afterward regarding the synapse update.
I'm interested to see as well, it didn't work for me so I tried reinstalling the app from scratch. The download site for synapse has been updated to the new version so I uninstalled Synapse. Deleted the Razer directory from C:\ProgramData, C:\Program Files (x86) and from my users AppData Local so it was pretty much fresh. Install went through. No change for me. The process changes from responding to not responding every 10 seconds or so and stays at about 15% CPU but keeps my CPU running at 3.3Ghz 24/7 to keep up. I kill the Razer process and the power and CPU usage immediately drops to 3% and low CPU power usage. There are long delays for the app to respond and I can't use the menus to even set the static colors for the scroll wheels on my Naga Epic Chroma. Same with trying to assign keyboard functions to the keys the menus often don't populate. Even hitting the gear button or hitting the X button on the Razer window can take up to 30 seconds for the program to respond. I'm using a Naga Epic Chroma mouse, Deathstalker Chroma keyboard, and a Kraken 7.1 V2. Like the others unplugging my headset makes no difference to the CPU usage.
Going to the synapse settings and clicking on "Check for updates" and updating It.. seemed to work perfectly fine for me. Razer electra V2 USB headset here
