    Hello,

I have a Blackwidow Chroma V2 keyboard and the Synapse 3.0 software installed. I'm encountering problems which are extremely annoying and I cannot solve. I'm using windows 7 x64 ultimate. I have created 3 custom profiles for Blackwidow along with 3 custom lighting profiles. The profiles are for 2 games and 1 for general use (both keys and lighting). Now I linked the 2 gaming pairs of profiles to the 2 games and this is what is happening:
    - The key profiles sometimes switch automatically, sometimes they don't.
    - The lighting profiles sometimes switch automatically, sometimes they don't.
    - The above do not happen at the same time. For example, they lights might switch but the keys did not, making it trick you into thinking that it worked.
    - When they profiles fail to switch (keys, or lights or both), most of the time Synapse seems to be extremely laggy and unresponsive. (takes like 2 minutes to click on Synapse icon on taskbar to maximize the Synapse 3.0 panel). When that happens and you finally click to change profile manually, it freezes (and sometimes even crashes).
    - Few times I found my system extremely unresponsive. Opening the resource monitor, I noticed one of the razer processes had made my CPU load at 100% (I never saw it above 30% except when rendering videos).
    - I see also many Razer processes consuming a lot of RAM. (meaning about 50MB each and they are like 3-4 of them.
    - On rare occasions, Synapse does not start when I boot my pc automatically.

I do not know if the problems are related to each other or are separate issues.
Especially they problems with switching profiles, ruins the experience of having such a keyboard, because you can't really use its features.

What I tried so far is:
-tried it with 2 different blackwidow keyboards
-reinstalled synapse after clearing everything about it. (after contacting Razer support and instructed me to do so).
    -updated Windows
-reinstalled Windows (which means resintalled games, synapse, etc etc) . Everything clean, new and updated.

That's why I still stick to Logitech when it comes to keyboards. Software is rockstable and hardware is awesome :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Anyways, to your problem. I thought: Problem of faulty Synapse installation / "old" profiles from Synapse 2. Since this is most commonly here. But you said you performed a clean install of Synapse, I guess/hope without importing your old profiles, so this can't be the problem.
You tried 2 keyboards, so hardware issue can be ruled out too. Even a complete Windows reinstall should state that it's also not Windows problem.
So it has to be a) a bug of Synapse 3 (don't forget it's still beta!) or b) another conflicting program, most likely a security program. Which one do you use? But since there're no other reports of this problem, it has to be related to some software running on your system. Maybe you can give us a list of installed programs which might run in background.

Other software that run in the background are:
Logitech Gaming software (for mouse and headphones)
    CCleaner monitoring
    Discord

Except for CCleaner, I also have these apps running in background.
Can you try closing all Razer apps and restart Razer Synapse as admin? Then launch a program which would trigger a profile switch and report back if that helped.

Edit: Maybe CCleaner is even the problem. Those "cleaning" programs are known for deleting important reg-keys and stuff, maybe it's the case in your situation. Otherwise, the only thing I can recommend you is to follow these steps carefullly, step by step, again:

    1. Open Synapse and export the settings from your still recognized devices. This is important since you'd lose 'em if they're not synced with the cloud for any reason.
    2. Uninstall Synapse through the 'normal' way.
    3. Make sure that the following folders are manually deleted before attempting to reinstall Synapse 3:
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Razer\Synapse
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\Razer Chroma SDK
    • C:\ProgramData\Razer\Synapse [this folder might be hidden by default, look here to learn how to display it]
    4. After that and before reinstalling Synapse 3: reboot your system!
    5. Disable your security software and run the Synapse 3 installer with admin privileges. After installation re-enable your security software
6.Now create a new switching profile, just for testing purpose, do not import old profiles now.
    7. If it's working now, import your settings/profiles and check if the issue is finally solved.

If the problem re-occurs, after importing your profiles, something is wrong with 'em. Then I'd suggest you to set 'em up manually again.

I have to say though, after I reinstalled windows, I made new profiles as well. I doubt the profiles themselves have problems. And if all 3+3 have problems, isn't that Synapse problem?

I will disable CCleaner give it a try for couple of days to see if there is any change.
Then I'll try your steps, see if there is any change again.

Tested it for few days. The occurances of the freezing are less (or maybe my imagination), and there is a new kind of freezing, where the lights of the keyboard freeze as well (for example a wave effect stops and freezes as static lighting). The only solution to restore it after this new freeze, is either computer reboot or unplugging the keyboard.

I also had freezes with the lightning on my Basilisk recently. I tested a little bit and for me, running the Synapse 3 executable ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Razer\Synapse3\WPFUI\Framework\Razer Synapse 3 Host\Razer Synapse 3.exe") as administrator did the trick!
I closed down all Razer apps, set the executable to always run with admin privileges and started it. After that, all lightning effects are working without any freezes or whatsoever.
I made a screenshot with the setting for you, give it a try! :)

Thank you. Did you have problem with the lighting only though? Cause my Synapse freezes as well when that happens.

On Windows 10, only with the lightning. On Windows 7, lightning as well as "hung" Synapse 3 which sometimes even refuses to start!

Yes, I performed a clean install first (with the steps I gave you) and then started the Synapse 3 exe always as admin. That worked for me at least.
