    Hi All,

As mentioned after the last big Synapse update, this has been our Synapse engineers over the past couple of months.

Many thanks to all the individuals that diligently reported bugs through the feedback button.

We've just released Synapse Version 3.3.717.72014 that should fix these general issues :
    - Profile Duplication (Please note that Synapse will not take liberties to delete old duplicates)
    - Profile data corruption/overwritten (blank drop-downs, profiles set to default).
    - Device detection after power-state events (restart/sleep etc)
    - Chroma Studio issues regarding device positioning and LED selection.
    - Cloud-sync issues (and we've added an option to manually initiate cloud sync)
    - UI issues with high-contrast theme
    - UI issues with high-res displays

We've also vastly improved performance and responsiveness of tab navigation in the UI and speed of profile/keymap switching.

We've also fixed a ton of device-specific niggles that were reported.

Please note that we have temporarily removed the option to import and export Chroma Studio Lighting effects. We are aware that there are several outstanding issues with that particular function. It will make a return in another patch soon and should work flawlessly thereafter. Please bear with us while we get it fully fixed up.

We're confident that we've fixed the vast majority of bugs that were properly reported in this patch. Whatever issues that remain unfixed will be further addressed in the next couple of patches. Please continue reporting whatever issues you see in the meantime using the inbuilt feedback button. The more data our engineers have about the bugs, the sooner they can get them fixed.

    Cheers!

Thanks for the great update! Always great to see the bugs getting squashed. Any news on support for the older Chroma devices? (Tartarus V1, etc)

Nice! Downloading this update as we speak. Doesn't seem like any new devices (They were frozen in april apparently), but its nice to have a bug fixing update every now and then.

Update: Pretty nice new wave effect on the Mamba TE, it seems to be much more brighter (Must be the colors) to me.

While Synapse now correctly detects the Razer Blade 15 is on battery when starting from power off (at least so far in my tests), it doesn't detect battery mode properly when waking from sleep.

Reproduce: Have separate lighting settings (brightness, logo) for AC and Battery.
    • Plug in laptop.
    • Put laptop to sleep.
    • Unplug laptop.
    • Wake laptop from sleep.
    • Observe: Laptop will be using the AC lighting settings but should be using battery.
    *sigh*

Well, on the plus side, the UI is much, much more responsive.

Perfect feedback. I've verified that this is indeed how it behaves currently. I've passed this on to the devs... this should be relatively easy to fix.

    Cheers!

That's great to hear that you should be able to fix it relatively easily. Detecting AC/Battery conditions properly is very important to get the most out of my Blade's battery.

Here's another pair of related problems I've discovered in the last few hours:

Problem: Synapse 3 only allows me to link any given game to one Lighting profile across all the computer systems I have Synapse installed on that my Razer profile is logged into.

Example: I have two separate computer systems: a desktop with a Razer BlackWidow Chroma V2 Keyboard with lighting profile Foo, and a Razer Blade 15 with lighting Profile Bar. Let's say I assign the lighting profile Foo to the game "BattleTech" on my desktop in Synapse. If I then go my Blade, I cannot link BattleTech to lighting profile Bar because it is already assigned to lighting profile Foo in my Razer account, even though Foo has nothing to do with this machine.

Reproduction: Need to have two separate computers w/ two different Razer Chroma keyboard devices, and log into Synapse on both machines with the same Razer profile.
    • Create a lighting profile Foo on Computer A, and assign it to game GameAwesome
    • Sync Lighting profiles.
    • On Computer B, attempt to assign lighting profile Bar to GameAwesome. Note that GameAwesome cannot be chosen because it is already assigned to lighting profile Foo. You should be able to see this assignment already in the Lighting Profiles panel.
Former Workaround: Prior to today's Synapse update (back on version 3.3.612.60119), I was able to assign lighting in the "Foo" profile on both the desktop and the Blade. I could re-use any effect layers already defined on the lighting profile and just add colors to the device on the other computer. This seemed to work at least for the last week I've had the Blade.

Problem: This workaround longer works with the latest version 3.3.717.72014. Whenever a Synapse sync occurs, one of the computers will wipe out the lighting profile from the other one (I assume whichever one syncs to the cloud first may win).

Example: On the lighting profile Foo, I set all my keys to green on my desktop w/ the BlackWidow and sync to the cloud. Then, I load up the lighting profile Foo on my Blade and set all the keys there to green and sync to the cloud. The next time I sync from my desktop, the BlackWidows keys will all be blanked out. The same happens in if I start in the opposite order.

Reproduction: Need to have two separate computers w/ two different Razer Chroma keyboard devices, and log into Synapse on both machines with the same Razer profile.
    • Create a lighting profile Foo on Computer A. Give it a static effect layer coloring all keys green.
    • Sync profiles
    • On Computer B, edit the lighting profile Foo. Choose the existing effect layer, and color all keys green.
    • Sync profiles
    • On Computer A, open or choose lighting profile Foo. Note that all keys that were previously colored green on the static effect layer, are now longer enabled in the layer and are no longer colored green (for my experience they will be just off).
Desired outcome: A user should be able to assign Chroma lighting profiles to the same game on multiple computer systems while logged in to the same Razer account. Presumably either the Lighting profile assigned to a game needs to be saved per computer system, or Lighting profiles need to be able hold settings for multiple Razer devices even if those Razer devices are attached to different computer systems.

This is all assuming that Razer's intended design isn't for users to create different Razer accounts per device they want to use Synapse on (especially considering how warranty registration is tied to Razer accounts).

Just to remind Razer. WE should not be testing your products. YOU SHOULD BE.
Anyone who purchased Razer hardware that was decidedly (by Razer) only to work with Synapse 3 should be getting a refund. I've been using my Razer Tartarus V2 as a paperweight since January because your Software wasn't working.

Ensuring a bug-free software is the highest priority for us. We hold back releases without hesitation whenever something has failed our internal tests. We don't expect users to do testing on our behalf, but we do expect them to report bugs if they encounter them because not every bug is replicable in every environment. Whatever gets properly reported gets fixed.

Downloading it now, hoping that it fixes the incredibly annoying issue where the Chroma HDK's strips wouldn't stay in place after saving the profile.

EDIT: It finally seems to be fixed, good!

Could you be more specific on what bugs you've fixed for the Blackwidow v2 TE? My fresh replacement from a RMA is double registering so much it's unusable.

Well, the new version "sort of" fixed the overlays. Usually I get 1 of them popping up as opposed to all of them now. Last restart I got 2 (mouse and chroma i think) this time just chroma. go figure lol.

    Also still unable to resize.

Also STILL does not remember window location. Come on guys, ive been buying a full suite of your peripherals for YEARS and would love to continue to, but something like a window remmebering its location is so basic, and so universal, and so trivial to add...... please....

oh, and my tiamat v2 and vespula v2 arent "legacy" and arent in. #salt

    Razer should add Headsets ASAP to Synapse 3; Its weird to have 2 softwares installed;

Any update to ripple effect ? its still propagating to mouse and mouse pad ?
Its intended ? its supposed to work as Synapse 2 ripple effect

Hi, There is still an issue that lots of Razer 15 have. If you are using Razer Synapse or even Razer Central and close the lid into hibernate or sleep, is STAYS ABOVE 11-12W ON IDLE. The only solution right now is to kill razer central in 'services' in Windows. Please, is it possible to fix the issue with coming update? We all cannot use Synapse daily because of that.

In addition, most of Razer 15 don't charge when we connect them while the lid is closed. (except sleep mode) I have to connect charger when the lid is open and then I can close it. Recalibration and other fixes won't help.

Both cases are comment among Reddit users and both look like a software issue so please answer to that, while razer 15 is supposed to be your flagship right now.

    Best Regards!

  16. I can no longer import the razer profiles into this new version... great update...!

I don't know if you meant these or other profiles, but at least the lighting ones are intentionally disabled currently.

One very annoying bug is still there :

Idle package power before putting the Blade 15 to sleep (closing the lid): 1-2w
Idle package power waking the the Blade 15 up: 12w

    This doesn't happen without Synapse.

(Use a package power software like throttlestop to see this)

    This DESTROYS battery life.

We fixed one issue of that nature in this patch, but it appears there's something else that still causes it for some users. We're looking into this now.

I am sorry, it actually works after clean up of the previous temporary files. THANK YOU for that fix. Still synapse drains a bit too much battery indeed, although it is significantly better.

Do the Razer team know about the issue "not charging while powered off"? Are you planning to deal with it in the future by a BIOS update or whatever? Regards! :)
