  1. I called the same store and was told they haven't heard anything about it yet, and to try back in a week or so. So yea who knows.

@JustaRandom I mean the blade specifically though, that model I wonder if it's from Razer or the card was put into it
  3. I just ordered the blade 1 week ago. I mean sure, it sucks that they will release a new one soon. But honestly I don't care that much. I dont think I won't be satisfied now. Besides, I'll just pretend like I never saw this news and I'll be happy :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:. It's always like this with tech. I remember when I bought the 980ti for my desktop and a month later they announced the 1080, it was pretty sad, but that doesnt mean 980ti is a bad gpu, same thing applies here. And I also really need a new laptop now for University.

on a sidenote, I dont think the 1060 will be much more powerful than the 970m. 10% maybe 15% in some rare cases.

actually almost twice as fast ...

And that was not even the final product

The 970m is about the performance of the GTX 960 Desktop, while the 1060 mobile is close to the 980 desktop.
  5. I cant see how you get that to twice the performance.. if you look at the link you sent the 1060 is 30-40% faster than 970m in games. that isn't double the performance :) Nonetheless its more than I predicted.

either way. I can't wait that long for a laptop unfortunately as i'm moving abroad and need a pc right now. Probably will just invest in a Razer core when the 970m gets too weak in the future

What I meant was they'll be $2400+. Razer sold the first 2016 ones for cheaper because they still had the parts

i personally would be really annoyed if it started at more than 2k. i can't even own one right because it would require a miracle in my case even though i am dying for one. not that i would actually be annoyed, but owning one will be more of a pipe dream :frown_:

oh i see. but it seems to legit though i haven't really seen any close ups

As soon as Razer announces the Blade with the 15" 4k screen and the new GTX 1060 in it, I will place my order. That machine will work for me for years.

lol that is my same wish:smile_:. a 15'' in the same form factor would also allow a screen bump on the stealth. i would also add the option of at least one upgrade able ram
EDIT: not that the 14 looks bad though.

I was hoping they would be able to get a 1070 into the new blade, but oh well, a 1060 is still gonna be beast. Hopefully they upgrade the screen to a 4k one :) Maybe make the bezels a bit smaller and get a 15 inch screen in the same form factor. Most likely its still gonna be everything the same, just a 1060 instead of a 970m. But still super excited to see what razer does with this opportunity :)

I heard that the 1060 can be put into a 970m laptop without any change. there is a good chance that Razer know that when they design the current blade. The fact that they already have an working model and the strange shipping strategy of the current blade seems to suggest the "V2" is not going to be far away.

I really hope that Razer gives us the option for a 1060 or 1070, or just forgoes the 1060 for a 1070. While the 1060 would beat out anything that Razer has put into their systems before, having a 1070 would be a nice and powerful middleground that would keep most users in the clear for 1080p gaming for a long while.

So Aorus people said somewhere that they will be officially releasing all the details within the next two weeks (all 1080, 1070 models are on their website already) about availability and prices.

I can't see Razer taking much longer than that. Simply because they are likely to lose sales if they do. Availability will probably be poor for the first few months though.

We have both already discussed the problems with buying a 970M at this late a stage ad nauseum so I would say we were talking about the hypothetical aspect of future Blades when thinking about purchases.

Kaby Lake really is just a minor spec bump and won't impact gaming performance too much, however the 970M can even barely be compared to a 1060.

Xotic already has almost all the Aorus products ranging in avaliability from Mid-August to Mid-September, it is missing the X7 DT v6, which is the one I have decided I am going for.

Aorus have recently posted an unboxing/quick overview of the new models

those actually look really nice.. might just get an x3 if Razer is gonna fart around for 3-4 months..

They seem to be the only ones with a decently sized laptop with a 1080, the others that have so far been announced with 1080s are gargantuan.
  17. Any idea on how the thermals would look on the GTX 1060 model? Excited for when it's released!

    Probably quite similar to now

Same here. That's why I'd like Razer to at least announce a time frame.. they won't lose customers, but might keep some who will wait a little longer.

And, don't forget the MacBook Pro refresh, which is also pending...
(Granted, the MBP never had [and likely won't have] a gaming focus,
with all the hype around VR, I'd expect to see specs that would be
just fine with more than just casual gaming..) We'll see..
