Thanks for the response. I’m going to hold tight for the next iteration of blade, see what it has, and buy then. Those other laptops (especially the Asus) are very nice, but I want the touchscreen as well.

I don’t want to say it, but Nvidia Chef promoting Aero 15 with 1070 max q on last CES, I think it’s the real Blade killer even it’s heavier and bigger, it’s a better choice over asus Zephyrus and Acer Triton as a portable laptop imo, but I think Razer also won’t stay calm, I assume they prepare something, a big upgrade for the Blade 14. But if you want the touchscreen yes Blade 14 4K is only option atm, I would wait for a discount on Amazon though, here in Germany it was on €2100, I think it’s €500 Sale, i would get it if they released it last year together with FHD Blade 14.

Yeah, that´s what I thought, too. Nope. It didn´t show me more than 60 Hz anywhere. Neiter in resolution settings on windows 10 nor in nVidia system panel. I only tried CS:GO because that´s the main game I play right now and there I had more than 150 fps average. But on the monitor settings I wasn´t able to activate any nVidia related option. Mybe it´s monitor related because the support already told me to use the display port.
It´s a real bummer because now my HDMI port is going to be useless and my USB Typ C port is going to be used just for my monitor instead of my USB 3.0/RJ45 hub :/

I think you don´t have to wait that long because Razer often releases a new blade 14 this time around. Last year when I was scratching all the money together to buy one it was suddenly not in stock and I had to wait one month till I suddenly got a notification from razer insider that a new blade was just released. So I was lucky enough to get the 7th gen i7 instead of the 6th. I hope this time they will at least put a 1070 Max-Q in it, a smaller bezel -> 15", light up the second keys, update to thx audio and of course the usual updates for CPU, RAM and SSD. If possible of course make it quiter and boost the battery a little more :D

I see, but i think it might be monitor or cable related matters, you can check at linustech like this, DP1.2 is definitely and HDMI 2.0 should also transfers higher speed than 60Hz.

Jep, I´ve also read that. Everyone assumes that it "should" work but I´ve actually never read anywhere that someone does 240Hz through HDMI.

Yes for over 120 Hz it seems you need DP1.2, but HDMI 2.0 on Blade could run well till 120Hz, don’t know if there’s something different with G-Sync monitors, but on FreeSync monitor I could confirm that.

    Hi
I've bought this laptop and i'm having problems with it. I didn't buy it off the website i bought it off amazon.com but its still your laptop so you can obviously help. these are a few problems I've had:
    • When i switch it on it won't let me log in it just stays on the lock screensaver.
    • the keyboard glitches a lot (doesn't let me change it, fn keys stay lit up.
    • the bumpers on the bottom have ripped off which i doubt they are supposed to.
    • also it bottoms at 30fps on all games even if they are low running games without being plugged in.
It would be really helpful if someone could respond and help ASAP
P.S. if all razerblade pro FHD's do this i strongly suggest that you shouldnt buy one because for a laptop this price to do that is shocking and for me (im 14 btw) to spend all my savings on this expecting it to be amazing i am very dissapointing with what i have been given.
    Thanks

    • Did you buy new or refurbished? Try to reset it to factory form by pressing F9 button after pushing start button and let the windows installation and update things over, sometimes it looks like freezing but it’s not, i had same issues, if you turn the system in the middle windows updating process it could bring some issue like unable to pass boot screen etc.
      • . Bumpers on bottom shouldn’t be ripped off, it could means it’s second device.
        • it’s one features to safe the battery, you can unlock it inside nvidia experience from battery life (30fps) to performance (60fps) I think.

I have had the last 3 Blades and have loved them all. I upgrade as soon as the new model comes out and sell my old, normally only taking a 500 dollar hit. Can't wait for the next gen Blades to be announced!

So your wallet has already restored again, Got Core, 4K monitor and a 1080Ti, it’ll keep me busy a while and I’ll skip the next Blade because now my wallet only has 1 bar;)

It's an expensive hobby to have! But if you work it the right way you can still have the latest and greatest without burning too big a hole in your pocket. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

  14. Hey guys,

just bought a new Razer Blade 14 and really happy about it. But I got some problems.

I wanted to update Windows 10 in the first place and but it wouldn't go on downloading, searched for some fixes but ended up installing the system again. So after the installation two things are missing and I'm wondering why: There was a tray-icon that showed me whether the Intel 630 or the 1060 GTX was active. Where is it? And second the razer-logo as the user-profile-picture is missing. Nothing important, just wondering. Please help me with that icon, was it a special programm that got uninstalled?

    Cheers

Just tried the factory-reset at the boot-up-Screen. The Picture is back but not the tray-icon. Hm.

I've had my Razer Blade 14" 2017 for a full year now and not a single issue. Great machine for VR, and games, not to mention productivity task. A++

i have reset my laptop now and it seems to be working fine. i didnt do the windows update it asks you to do when you startup so that is probably where my problem lies but it is fine now.

I just saw, that the current offer for the razer blade only lasts until tomorrow. Can we except the reveal of the new model for 2018 or is it more realistictly razers going to wait for the new nvidia gpu, coming out in April?

Just check Germany site about the offers (st. Patrick deals 2018?) What is that, isn’t it for Ireland. Anyway they make limited time offers quite often and it doesn’t mean that they bring new one, but reaching a year cycle it’s not impossible. Notebook GPU will come later after desktop one usually, so I think if nvidia release it on April, GPU for mobile would maybe fastest in next two months after that and could also be way later or end of the year due high demand on gpu nowaday.
