Any idea when the creators update is going to be fixed for older laptops.

It seems even not being fixed on Blade stealth and Blade 14 2016~2017. Some one said isn’t problem on Blade 14 2017, i have this model but I’m still holding. Just prepare restore point to roll back when you want to try.

Yeah, I always disable windows update but I see some youtubers getting better gaming performance so I wanted to try it out. For now I wont bother with the update.

  4. I am a bit confused right now, maybe someone can help me. The new Stealth still features one TB3 port right? And the new Core V2 feature is a Dual TB3 interface to ensure the seperation of I/O and GPU for the full bandwidth? How is this Laptop going to use this „worlds first“ feature?

Also the pricing is getting out of control. Razer seems to be aiming at an Apple like status. I am comparing pricing in Europe here. For example the HP Spectre x360 13 features the same 8550u, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD. It features two TB3 ports with 4 pcie lanes and is a 2in1 convertable with a pen included. It has been reviewed to also be Plug and Play with the core. The only downgrade would be a FullHD screen but far superior battery life and smaller bazzels. Dont know why you need anything above 1080p at 13“ with poor windows scaling when te selling point is using external displays. The Stealth costs like 300€ more here in Europe while featuring less. The price difference comes down to subjective Design. How can this be justified? Dont get me wrong the Stealth is looking sick, but they are moving away from the value aspect.

What bothers me the most though is the availablility in Europe (Germany). I have to wait like 3 months longer to get the 8th generation compared to other companies (e.g. HP, DELL). The Gunmetal version is still Not availible here and seems to be an US exclusive... I am tired of waiting and a bit disappointed with razer. Might as well go with some other brand and still use the Core V2 or some other eGPU setup.

    Just my two cents here.

“World firs“t etc is used mostly by companies for their marketing. Yes Stealth still offers TB3, and you can already order it (it stated available in Germany store). Kabylake R Spectre x360 isn’t available yet tough in cyberport and notebookbilliger.de. The core new feature is offering problemlos;) usb connection with pheriperals and hardware that plugged to the core while using it to push maximum traffic between those two (GPU and USB port), I think, well there’s no real review yet.
Beside QHD+ touchscreen, Stealth offering chroma keyboard (black one, Gunmetal won’t be released out side US and Canada atm so don’t wait for it) that’s also one feature that bump the price imo. I had HP laptop (yoga13 720) once and I returned it to Mediamarkt immediately due built quality and keyboards travels key that couldn’t match my Blade 14 and bought stealth instead. Spectre is their MacBook class laptop but for me for €200 difference I would still go with 8th stealth, if you use stylus the story would be different.

I kinda wish they would use the same CPU for the next Razer Blade 14"

the 7th gen HQ series heats like crazy, the 8th gen HQ series heats even more and the GTX 1060 doesn't need that much CPU power. The 8550U performs about the same as the 7700HQ, needs less power and heats a lot less. And it's probably cheaper than the HQ series too!

But PLEASE don't go with the underpowered MaxQ for the GPU ...

I think there’s already 8550U combined with gtx1060, new surface book 2, waiting for real smack down review between 7700HQ with 1060 laptop with this one. On paper benchmarks showed overall 7700HQ still performs better even in some benchmarks 8550U beats it, the less power consumption is worth though for anyone who aim the battery life or saving a bit electric bill;)

Anyone got ideas on the timeline for when the Blade Stealth Gunmetal Edition comes out? I check the store daily but it isn't there yet. T_T

I wouldn't really want to play games on it, but I sure would LOVE to get my hands on one of these for everything else I use a PC for. Really, just the simple stuff like e-mail, facebook, internet, online shopping, reading the forums, etc. This seems just perfect for all that stuff, basically, everything that isn't playing games on my main desktop PC.

    So jealous! :) :)

I wish I had a laptop from Razer even if it was the old one. Aleast I have something to brag about something.

  19. Its a real shame the Gunmetal version will not make it to Europe anytime soon. Would really consider a Stealth but the black version screams Gamer a little to much for my needs. I dont mind at home but if I have to carry this thing to meetings, it looks unprofessional. Just my opinion. I love the MacBook style look.

Fürhtermore I think the Yoga and Spectre are not really comparable in quality. Since its like a month before this becomes available I will wait. Hopefully Razer makes some good decisions to bring the Gunmetal version since it receives really good feedback all around.

Yes I like also their gunmetal colors like in my Lancehead, pretty futuristic, had also bought in Idee silver dark sticker and put it on my Blade 14, because I wanted badly the color. Yes it has good reviews, less lightning and with no chroma made the battery seems better than black one, plus if they put 8th gen CPU i bet it would easily go over 10 hours, on non intensive usage. Razer is not big company like Dell or HP, so i think they will deliver the demand first on their biggest market, North America, after that I hope they bring it also to other areas, well I think after North America, EU is their next biggest market.
Yes Spectre is their MacBook grade laptop, I tried also in Mediamarkt, it’s just my personal taste, the color is too glamour for not rich boy like me;) Prefer something dark:) Yes Linus told also its TB3 is working perfectly with Core, but I think other USB C port is not TB3, power supply I think, like on Yoga, only the TB3 on Spectre x 360 is 4lanes PCIe3. BTW at work you can actually turn off Black Stealth logo to make it less attractive, at my work actually other colleagues laptops are pretty boring silver imo, they like my Stealth.
