So, how long before we can order the Blackwidow X Chroma with the cheaper MX Cherry keys again? I don't remember seeing that option despite this being one of the selling points of the BWX.

Wow you're right! I just realised now that they don't sell the Cherry MX versions any more...anyone have any idea why they stopped?

This is so cool! Wonder why they removed the usb pass-through which is so convenience to us.

The thing is, did they ever begin to start with? I've never actually been able to see an MX Cherry option on the store since the original product announcement.

Well I definitely remember them having Cherry MX blues on the BW X chroma on the first few days (i was thinking of buying one) now that i check it, its no longer there...

I think it might've been a mistake on Razer's part where the Cherry's are only available on non-chroma versions because after a quick google search it turns out Razer still sell the blackwidow X with cherry switches but its non - chroma.

(i didn't even know a standard Blackwidow X existed lol)

When this was announced, I remembered it being announced that there'd be a TE edition with Cherry keys and no backlight for only 70 bucks. What ever happened to that one?

I get the mx blues are German, and are high quality, but what I don't get is all the hate for Razer greens.

    R. Greens have / are:

    - 80 million keystroke lifespan vs 50-60 for the mx blues.
    - More quiet than blues.
    - Solid tactical feel.
    - 50 gram actuation point.

What's NOT to like about Razer greens? (err... except for the fact they are made in China... heh).

I really want to buy this keyboard, it's just perfect and beautiful, but I live in Brazil and it's very expensive :frown_:

Well, as I somebody told me in another thread on this forum (look it up, I started the topic) it should be available next month, i.e. somwhere in June. Hopefully. It's in razerzone, but it's hidden - I must google it everytime to get to this website: http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-keyboards-keypads/razer-blackwidow-x-tournament-edition
And yes, this version is announced also with MX Blues as an alternative (cheaper to razer switches!)

AFAIK there are two main resons. (1) Firstly, Cherry is always short on supply with their switches, due to their quality control and their over 20 years production lines on which the blues are being made. So, there's no way they can satisfy the Razer's demand on those switches - just imagine the massive amount of the switches that just Razer alone needs for their keyboards (as I imagine, this is the most popular mechanical keyboard brand in the world - I mean, it's literally available everywhere, so...). Therefore they decided to go with their switches production to the Cherry's competitor to China - new lines, more production power - and with that comes second reason - (2) Kalih switches are just cheaper, with means bigger profits for the company - and aren't the profits things that companies exists for? :)

I've done my research before buying mech keyboard - read opinions on the internet or just see youtube videos about the quality of those Razer's switches. There's Linus video on YT in which they are visiting Cherry production line in Germany - the quality control is outstanding - this is something opposite to Kalih in China, I believe. However Kalih bad QC is not necessarily due to the Kalih/Razer bad will, but due to the massive amount of the switches that are being produced - imagine testing every single switch there. All in all people complain about razer's switches starting behave in different manner that they did in the beginning (e.g. they are stiffer), or even there are people who get a keyboard on which some keys are not working at all just after unboxing the product. That's the cons of the massive production.

That a awesome keyboard, razer. I want a blackwindow X TE, but it is a little expensive for me ( and it is more expensive lately somehow)

  14. Wow, so I've had the Blackwidow X for all of a week and a half... and the Enter key is already sticking! Did not see this coming, not for this price. Disappointing... but I'm doing an exchange (via Amazon) and we'll see if the second time's the charm. Better be.

well because most people who are using green have a bad feedback to it for example

    *double click issues
    *some keys are becoming "silent"
    *some keys are not consistent

-well i have experienced razer keys for quite sometime but still i wouldn't risk it since the prices of their keyboard is not a joke. so i would prefer to the products that are proven and tested :D

I've been lurking through these Razer forums for some time now. You seem a bit argumentative, in my opinion.

I too have had an issue with a BW keyboard. It's my understanding Razer has improved their quality control. Certainly time will tell if that has made a difference (overall), but I'm willing to give Razer another chance.

    #To each his own.
