Hope the Microsoft store will be selling the Stealth, a 10% student discount would bring the lowest tier down to $899!

I feel like this could ultimately erase apple laptops from college classes or anywhere else you''d find them.

Doubt it, razer is just not widely known enough, at least not with anyone but gamers. And people like the Apple brand, they know it, it's a status symbol for many who don't care about computers. I don't mind being the only one with a razer because it gives me more of that wow factor from people who have no idea.

has anyone verified the battery life on the UHD and QHD versions? Very interested in getting the most bang for the battery life... if the QHD is anything below 6 hrs I think the UHD may be the better option

You got that backwards, the UHD (4k) will have less battery life than the QHD. I think they quoted QHD at ~8hrs, and UHD at ~6? We'll have to wait for reviews to confirm real world results though.

Yeah QHD 8, UHD 6. I opted for the QHD on my Stealth for that reason. The specs are very much in line with competing ultrabooks so unless they went cheap on the battery, I expect the Stealth to hold up. I'll definitely put mine through the paces when I get it but I expect with backlighting off and screen turned down, I will be able to be away from an outlet for many hours.

I've only ever bought i5s in my ultrabooks because really what is the point of the dual core i7? I can't imagine it is much more of a power drain than the i5 though. Guess it's time to google specs.

  14. Does anyone know if this will ship to EU? or only USA?

Where you able to grab the 128 at all? I was down for the QHD but was going to upgrade the ssd. 256 ain't enuf
Yups... Atleast for now. Does seem like intel is moving to include bios software that will accept any egpu via thunderbolt so I would expect it to be future proofed.

It's supposed to be driven by Thunderbolt 3 over a USB-C connection so theoretically any computer that supports that standard would be able to use the Core. Check this article by PC Gamer.

I went for QHD/256 GB SSD model. It'll be a tight fit but I am thinking that games that need the Core I will leave installed on an external drive. A USB 3 external SSD shouldn't give to much of a performance hit when loading. It's supposed to be using an m.2 SSD instead of some wonky embedded crap so I am sure it will be replaceable by the end user.

So I pre-ordered the Stealth, but my 5% educational discount code didn't work. Apparently the Stealth isn't eligible for an education discount. Kind of an odd choice, given that college students would be the primary audience for this, isn't it?

The stealth is a great laptop for the price, how much the core gonna cost?
