Good to know that. For my Blade 14 I’ve found solutions (idk on stealth it didn’t work) but as trade off is chroma lightning off. I just need to close the lid and (open) wake it up again, the Core still works and temperature is same, fans is working but maybe not the power adapter one since it’s way quiter on idle (on my Blade 14 somehow the core chroma didn’t light up after waking up not like on Blade stealth), but i...hmmm, hard to say...don’t need the chroma light;), but performance is more important:), i can get it light up again (with trade off again on idle come that over active fans activity) if I switch the gpu to dgpu by gpu switcher.
I use it if I am to lazy unplugging usb c or want to play game immediately without plugging the core, because the fan (adapter one?), is coverage by gaming sound completely, only on idle it’s keeps running mostly and remarkable in quite environment.

Helppp meeee. how do you guys get it to work. my core v2 is stuttering with games. 1 fps only. I am using msi gtx 1080 gaming x. My laptop is rbp 4k.

I plugged in the core, the gpu in the core is idle. this is so frustrating.

How did you set it so far? Did you disable gtx1080 inside your laptop with graphics switcher? Did you already follow this support page? You know you do this only for better thermal right, 1080 RBP will perform better than MSI gaming x 1080.

yes for the thermal. how is the gtx 1080 inside the rbp gonna perform better. There are multiple statement regarding the compatibility of this thing it's confusing. Razer store guys told me it's not compatible. Razerzone online store says it's compatible. Graphic switcher page says this graphic switcher program only works for rbs and the new rb. Why is razer so confusing.

It's because TB3 bandwidth and CPU bottleneck, it should work with any TB3 laptop as long manufacturer doesn’t lock it per bios, and RBP 4k could connect to core V2 according user here, graphics switcher is beta software that make the setting easier, even XPS user confirmed that it works on his core V2, I think it was on Reddit, you can manually disable dgpu on device manager to get eGPU working properly without gpu switcher, but for Razer System I would recommend it, btw rbs doesn’t need gpu switcher since it doesn’t have dGPU, eGPU will work mostly on iGPU and one dgpu, so maybe from your fps your setting atm only recognizes its igpu (or maybe none, since I think RBP iGPU is locked or doesn’t have one since it uses g sync).

the furmark runs without problem(gpu at 2xxxmhz and ram at 5xxx MHz) but with games =, the core stays at 139mhz and vram at 405 mhz.

Did you switch off the dgpu with graphics switcher or manually through device manager? Check Nvidia controll Panel on specific program that the game runs on 1080.

Im afraid if i disabled the laptop gpu it will be blank screen. Im not using external monitor.

I understand that, but egpu won't work with two dGPU and GPU on enclosure active (despite for cuda purpose). That is what GPU switcher for. I wish I had RBP to test, unfortunately I'm not Razer staff who could test anything;) but on its little brothers, it's fine disabling both dgpu and igpu, you'll only couldn't play some video maybe, the screen won't be blank.

Bigger inner space, now seems fit gaming x cards, improved I/O ports for more stable connection that’s all the main change, in term TB3 connection for performance it’s similar.

    Greetings everyone!

I own a Core V2 and tried to get the fan noise a little bit down and wanted to share my experience:
The idea was (i think i found it somewhere here on razerzone) that the fans of the psu of the razer core v2 are quite loud and could be replaced.
So i followed the guide from
http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/razer-core-disassembly-fan-location-guide.802000/ to disassemble everything and put in the following scythe fans: http://www.scythe-eu.com/en/products/fans/mini-kaze.html .
Interestingly enough, the fans would not turn even under high temperature load. I disassembled everything again and tested the original fans as well as the scythe fans against a 9v battery outside of the core - all fans worked perfectly even tough when placed inside the psu of the core the scythe fans did not work. I replaced everything again with the original fans and everything is now working again.
I remember reading of someone exchanging the fans and reporting that it worked - this person used noctua fans however.
Could the way the fans are built make any difference in this case? Are they supposed to be pwm fans?
I am a little bit confused as to why the scythe fans did not work in the core PSU - if someone can explain that to me i would be very much obliged!

    Thanks and see you soon,

The PSU Fans that is loud on idle, I tried put any type of gpu inside that, and come to conclusion that costum Fans that not stop working on idle like my Zotac is the quietest one at around 33dB on idle other was over 35, and it’s quite similar with other enclosure, some that has bad sensor or fan even louder after some days on usage. Though idk how the sensors on Fans especially for PSU working, but it’s definitely not temperature base like on some costum gpu and I suppose Fans on bottom of core. On my Blade 14 with lightning malfunction as trade off I found the tweak how to make it silent 30dB (idk if it made the fans off or quiter) without performance drops or thermal issues, unfortunately it doesn’t work on my stealth, and personally i don’t like it without chroma:)

Here is my ATX special cable. It uses a 20 pins ATX molex and a 8 pins CPU 12v molex.
The connector used on the razer motherboard is a JST VH 10 pins connector with the following pinout (from pin 0): 12v, 12v, ground, ground, ground, ground, 5v, 3.3v, 5vSB, power_on.
This cable is ment to be a proof of concept only but works perfectly. I'll build a longer one when I'll find the right power supply.

well still no luck getting razer blade pro uhd to work with core v2. the strangest thing is the donut benchmark works fine. the gpu in the core v2 would work, but with games it wouldn't.

You meant you couldn’t open the games? Or did it crash in game, like on loading screen etc?
