Giving an update since I have had my RBS and Core for about 6 months now. I have the QHD 256GB version and the Core with a GeForce GTX 1060. Most of my time on the computer is spent playing Paragon or browsing the internet. I have had no major issues with either system but I have had 2 minor issues that one was resolved very quickly and the second one I think is resolved but I need some more time to tell.

The first issue was I was getting a constant cycle of restarts. It would boot up, maybe get to the password screen (if even that far, too long ago to remember), then shut down and repeat booting up. Called Razer support and was talking to someone pretty quickly. He told me to wiggle the power button because it may have been stuck in a pressed position and after I wiggled it was fixed and I was able to use it again.

The second issue started a couple of weeks ago and this was the screen going black. The computer was still running and continuing on but the screen blacked out and took a hard reboot to fix. This would happen in spurts and make the computer unusable. But it wasn't consistent and sometimes I could use it for a while with no issues and other times it would constantly do it to me. Sent an email to Razer support and one of their suggestions was updating the display driver. I did that a couple of days ago and have gamed on it twice since then for short periods (30-50 minutes) with no issues. Hopefully that was the fix.

Overall I'm pretty happy with both items. Sure these are two issues may not plague other brands and systems but there are so many pros like size, weight, looks, QHD, touch screen, RAM, ability to use desktop graphics cards, that these two minor issues haven't put me off of Razer products.

I've been trying to purchase the QHD version of the RBS for over 2 weeks now, and it's gone from being out of stock, to actually being removed from the option list on the online razer store. Here in the UK we can only order the 4K version, which I do not want.
What are you guys seeing in the US store? Have the 4K versions been reduced in price as well? There are so many of us who want to get our hands on the QHD version but it's seeming unlikely for the foreseeable future.
I hear that there was only 6 months between the RBS versions (early and late 2016), so does this point to a possible lineup refresh?

  3. I'm from UK and I noticed it was out of stock regularly (QHD 16gb 256ssd), but I finally managed to order mine on 3rd Feb delivered a week later. All I can say is keep checking and keep trying. One last thing, I am now thinking about getting the core to pair it up with but it isn't clear I can get the £100 discount because I bought separately. Something to consider.

I was just about to purchase the 4k version today. Those are now out of stock as well. Wanted to take advantage of the £150 discount....

Will we get a re-stock soon? Really annoying since i just ordered some other stuff to go along with it from Amazon and it was in stock earlier today before i closed the browser. Now its gone. :<

Edit: Just tried again and it let me purchase. May have been a website error. Looking forward to playing around with my new RBS. :>

Happy to see the 16gig and the larger battery, that's definitely a step in the right direction!

I still wish we could see one that would drop the touch and offer a 1080p display (for additional battery life and portability) and a smaller bezel.

My goal would be minimalist on the go with battery on the forefront, with the core available when I got home. The extra resolution for me anyway is just kind of a waste on a 12.5" screen. I mean the 4k is kinda useless unless you're looking at the screen as you roll your face across the keyboard under 10" from the display.

I have the new razer blade stealth 512gb and I love it. I use it for work, can't really game on it without the Core. The battery lasts a very long time. Excellent machine!

Loving mine as well. I have to admit the 4k is definitely wasted on that screen. Might be less so if it was 13.3inches. But other than that its great. No problems so far. Which was my biggest concern considering all the horror stories ive read about on insider. x)

  12. I'm in the market for an ultrabook and plan to buy between now and the next several months. I really like the Stealth but wish they offered the i7 in a non-touch screen version. I don't really have a need for a touch screen and don't want to pay for it. Ideally I'd like an i7, 16gb RAM and a 512 SSD.

  13. Could someone give me a good idea of what the battery life is like with the 4K screen and 500ssd?

I received my Stealth in the post yesterday. ☺ It's the 4k 16GB 1TB version.Very happy with it so far. I noticed the battery drained fairly quickly when I was setting it up. Just wondered whether anyone has used it for programming with eclipse/android studio/microsoft visual studio and how the battery holds up when using these?

  15. Oh no, how quickly exactly because I was looking at that model too and I want it to last through my full days at college.

Around 50% in approximately 3 hours. I was installing things during that time and there was also a windows update downloading in the background. I've not used it 'normally' yet so can't comment beyond my use yesterday. I have read on some other threads that tweaking some settings helps to extend battery life, so I'll have a play around with it.

Battery saver is off and brightness is on max by default. So yeah it doesnt last long when you first use it. If you change those its a lot more reasonable.

  18. Thanks for the information, I have one more question. In terms of the razor core. Let's say I put a GTX 1070 inside and use the stealth's duel core i7 to play games that require quad core. What will my performance hit be? Can I still run those games?

My experience with the 4k (Kaby Lake) is about 4-5 hours. Not stellar by any means, but okay.
