Thunderbolt 3 port on Blade 15 Advanced (Early 2020)

I have a Blade 15 Advanced (Early 2020) with Nvidia RTX 2070 Super graphics. I am trying to use a VR headset with it (Vive Pro 2) but it is not happening. The Vive Pro 2 has a DisplayPort connector. My Blade only has a Thunderbolt-3 USB-C port (the one on the right hand side of the unit - the USB-C port on the left is not Thunderbolt 3) so I bought an adapter but still not working. Vive say it will only work if the Thunderbolt-3 port is connected to the Nvidia graphics card, rather than the Intel GPU on the motherboard. Can anyone tell me if this is the case for Blade 15 Advanced (Early 2020)?

I resolved the problem myself. Fix involves following steps:

· ALogic USB-C to Displayport adapter does not work. Startech adapter does. Startech USB-C to DisplayPort Adapter with Power Delivery, 8K 60Hz /4K 120Hz, USB Type C to DP 1.4 Video Converter w/ 60W PD Pass-Through Charging - HBR3 - Thunderbolt 3 Compatible.

· On the Blade 15 Advanced (2020), only the USB-C port on the right side is wired for Thunderbolt. The adapter needs to be plugged into that port.

· You need to change a setting in the Razer BIOS:

o Boot your PC into Razer's BIOS by pressing F1/Delete at the OEM boot screen.

o Navigate over to the "Advanced" tab and then scroll down and select "Thunderbolt Configuration"

o Select "Discrete Thunderbolt Support"

o This setting will be "Enabled" by default - you'll need to change this to "Disabled" to get the Pro to work. Once you disable it, save your change and exit the bios.

o If you use this port for other Displayport tasks, bear in mind that you may need to re-enable this setting to get the port to behave as desired.

· Change the NVIDIA settings to make sure the NVIDIA GPU is used and not the on-board Intel graphics.

o Right-click anywhere on the desktop and select NVIDIA Control Panel

o Under “Manage 3D Settings”, change the setting for Preferred graphics processor to “High-performance NVIDIA processor”

o Click “Apply”
