My usual fight in The Witcher 3 starts like this: I charge in HARD with Roach my horse, do my best to slow-mo slash all the baddies in one pass, turn the horse around, jump off and start taking heads. I'm practically letting out war cries and screaming my barbaric yawps. There's no finesse, no plan, just bloodshed and carnage. This is also why I can't play The Witcher 3 on anything harder than ezmode. Yes, hi, I'll take the tourist package please, thank you. I'm the same way with shooters. Strategy, yes: shoot all the things. But there's also a sweet satisfaction when getting that crit one-shot from super far away. So my loadouts of choice often take on the form of close quarters combat and sniper kills. There's no in-between. I'm either in your face or you never see my face. What about you? What's your preferred way to engage in combat and for which game? This is your Thread of the Week!
Played several games Runescape 3 - Using semi-auto casting abilities, I know most skilful player would prefer full-manual but it is just too difficult for me to learn GTA V - In the shooting position, I like to use the first person with cross aiming instead of the default little white dot. It is too easy to lose my aim Call of duty & AoE Definity Edition- Using all default setting, rather than others. It is easy to make conflict with other function keys and make a nightmare in game
Back in my Destiny days, I’d go for a mid-range loadout with a focus on scout rifles and sidearms. In an RPG or MOBA realm, I’m usually a ranged attacker but also nimble. Freedom of movement is key. Getting in good positions and being able to flank your enemies is always the best strategy, even if it means sacrificing a little attack power in the process. Edit: Even though I’ve traditionally played games and characters this way, I’ve been trying to branch out a little bit. Going a little more “glass cannon” or tanking out a bit more now.
I always dive deep into a chaos fueled game, even when there is a stealth option available. Its nice to see how devs code their AI when all hell breaks lose in the game.
Usually I play strategy games like CS:GO, DOTA 2, Call of Duty, Overwatch. They need very good communication in the team for good results, but sometimes I just switch ON the "Terminator" mood and then I stop thinking for strategy that much, I just walk and kill everything in my way if it's possible "rush in their face, dive on their towers and etc."
Hello friends, I like to be able to seduce, to negotiate diplomatically, to use my intelligence, discretion to find a passific solution and not to kill any person in my game. Even in an apocalyptic ultraviolet universe like Fallout or I hope in the excellent Cyberpunk 2077 which arrives on September 17th. ^ _ ^
I prefere a straight punch. ^^ Very often I am too impatient to play in a reactive way. I want to be aggressive in a combat. It is much easier for me to be successful this way.
i like stealthy plays when playing csgo or fortnite. same with when playing league of legends makes me feel like more of an assassin
In strategy games (AoE, Starcraft etc..) i prefer to send small amount of troops so i can slowly destroy the enemy! muhahahahahaha (evil laugh )
i prefer the stealthy, strategic combat in games. i like to play on a harder difficulty. something where u can master ur gameplay.
If I'm honest, I love using sniper rifles 24/7. Especially in games like Destiny 2. Only problem is i'm not great with them. I would rather sit back and snipe, or rush in and quickscope if possible.
What a great thread! So here are my strategies and tactics. In CSGO I never use a sniper rifle because I can't aim from afar yet 'cause I'm very new to the game. So I go full blast frontal assault with Desert Eagle and AUG. In Crysis back in the day I did 90% of the missions in stealth mode and never used a gun without a silencer. What can I say, I like the stealthy tactics. In another oldie but goodie, in CnC Tiberium Wars I'm the very definition of a turtle. I play slow, I build base defenses and a strong economy, and then when I get to the final tier units I charge. I like bombing the enemy first with my Firehawks. In the same franchise but another universe, in CnC Generals Zero Hour my favorite General is Air Force. I used to win by just attacking with stealth Commanches and fighter jets all the time. That's why I was so baffled when I was watching competitive games back then. They guys were attacking in the first minute with NOD rocket bikes and I'm like "are they nuts?".
I prefer to play CoD or Battlefield/Battlefront. Sniper is not for me, I am really the machine gun type. But with an average ping of 100ms you can imagine how my quota is. And if it's better for a second, I usually get kicked out of the game. But sometimes there are also good rounds.
Often brute force battles in Monster Hunter World, with minimal strategy. Fairly sure this is going to undermine me in high ranks.
It's a mix of the two for me. Generally I'll hang back and take people off in mid to close range if I can. I really like long range too but generally I don't snipe very often because I don't seem to put myself in good places to effectively snipe. I guess you could say it's strategized stealth run and gun haha!
