Troubleshooting: My blade 14 screen going to BLACK

Issue: Sporadically, the screen of my beloved blade 14 will flicker black. Sometimes it will cut straight to black. Other times, alternating rows of pixels will turn pink, beginning at the bottom and creeping to the top. Usually, those two events will come in a concentrated episode, each occurring several times, over the course of a few minutes. The rest of the time the screen is fine. The frequency between episodes is increasing. At first, the interval was months, then weeks, now multiple times a day. Moving the mouse will "reawaken" the screen, though, doing so, does not end the episode. Neither keystrokes nor physically jostling the screen has an effect. Only a signal from the mouse (or pad), will reawaken the screen.

Interventions: First, I downloaded Norton antivirus, ran a scan, and got the big green all-systems-go. Second, I tried to ignore the issue and live with it. Then, when that intervention stopped working, I followed Microsoft's instructions for screen flickering. I ensured the task manager was equally affected by the issue and I ensured the Intel and Nvidia display drivers were up to date. I did not roll back or uninstall any drivers. Only checked that they were current.

Skill level: I don't know much about computers. I know that drivers are important and that they should be updated. I know that my graphics card is good, my ram is fast(?) and my keyboard is colorful. I know cars better than computers. But I didn’t know anything about fixing them when I started either.

Question: What are the next steps I should take in troubling and fixing my issue?

Also, I was disheartened to see that the link most relevant to my issue in Top Knowledge Base Articles is broken.

Does this issue sound similar to something you have experienced?
