nevermind. seems like my hardware ID is not match with the changes config. mine is 1A586757 instead of
1A586753. changed and update again and it's working now! :D

here's my 61-evdev-local.hwdb config with some changes. it's not perfect yet, i'm still tuning it:

    # Razer Blade Stealth
    evdev:name:1A586757:00 06CB:8323 Touchpad:dmi:*svnRazer:pnBladeStealth:*

I switched back (Ubuntu 17.10) from libinput to X11 & Synaptics.

What issues are you still noticing (if any)?

    with the touchpad?
My synapticis config is not perfect
    - the palm detection PalmMinZ (etc) values could be better

But the rest ist nice. Libinput-gestures works also.

Prior to switching back, did you have issues with a deadzone in the center(ish) area of the touchpad?

I just recently updated to Ubuntu 18.04 so I'm running X11 and libinput, and unfortunately I still have deadzone issues. To my recollection though, I still had problems with the deadzone when using the synaptics drivers

Ah ok, I don't believe the late 2016 RBS has the same touchpad deadzone issue.

It's in the final beta right now, and should be stable and free of significant bugs. The official release is April 26th, so it's not too far off. I think there are only positives to updating now. I'm not even really sure of the new features, I updated in the hopes of it fixing the deadzone issue

Thanks, I updated to the 18.04 beta. Libinput (is newer) and works better (like my Arch setup).
But xserver-xorg-input-synaptics is still my recommendation.

I finally got a way to suspend with no autowake. The bluetooth module causing the laptop to autowake after like 1-15 minutes after suspend. I'm using this script https://github.com/parkouss/systemd-suspend-modules for unload bluetooth module when the laptop is suspending. Here's my configuration:

    # /etc/suspend-modules.conf
After the laptop wake up. The bluetooth will still be wonky at first but after like a moment it should get back to work. not really sure since i haven't been testing it a lot.

Can you tell me how to use this script? I am experiencing the same issue but I couldn't find a way to make it work.

I also had the same touchpad issue, but it's been two days and everything seems fine now. I don't remember changing anything but maybe a synaptics update? Well, I guess the deadzone will come back I shouldn't have too much hope! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

    (My laptop runs 18.04)

I think I might have found a solution to prevent the laptop to wake up because of the bluetooth.
    I created this file /lib/systemd/system-sleep/bluetooth-sleep.sh :

    if [ "${1}" == "pre" ]; then
        service bluetooth stop
        rfkill block bluetooth
    elif [ "${1}" == "post" ]; then
        rfkill unblock bluetooth
        service bluetooth start
I'm not sure if/why I need both rfkill and service commands but I just made a few tries and it seems to fix the problem. I will try with a longer suspend time and check if it really works.

EDIT2 : After a few hours in suspend mode it still seems to be working!
Also don't forget to make the script executable :
    sudo chmod +x /lib/systemd/system-sleep/bluetooth-sleep.sh

Has anyone solved the touchpad dead zone yet?

I installed synaptics and the 50-synaptics-ubuntu.conf file above, but i'm not sure if synaptics or libinput is handling the touchpad. Not sure how to disable libinput handling just the touchpad (still needed for keyboard).

I found a bug report thread here with a kernel patch which claims to improve (but not completely fix) the dead zone. But I have no idea how to install a kernel patch--do I have to recompile the whole Linux kernel to do this?

For the screen flicker issue, I upgraded the kernel from 4.15 to 4.16, added the i915.edp_vswing=2 kernel parameter to grub, and installed the three firmware files in /lib/firmware as described here. The screen flicker might be gone now, except for a weird momentary itty-bitty-inverted-color glitch at login.

The touchpad dead zone is pretty awful so I'd really appreciate any help fixing it.

I wish Razer officially supported Linux.

I have installed synaptics with the same config file, and I also don't know which driver is handling the touchpad. The dead zone comes and goes randomly for apparently no reason.
I too would like more information about that kernel patch, can it work with the 4.16 kernel?
