Unusual Circumstances? - Razer Blade Stealth

  1. Greetings Everyone -

    I am hoping that my experience so far is unusual, and that I can still have some faith in Razer, because I really want to. I am not trying to bash anyone, but this is the only company this has ever happened with. Let me explain:

    On May 10, 2018, I went out on my lunch hour, and purchased a Razer Blade Stealth. I came back to my office, unpacked it and powered it up. And, right away there were immediate issues. The system had a number of IO issues, the track pad, the keyboard - it was basically unusable. So, I called Razer Support, and they were very pleasant. They went through a series of tests, etc., and determined that I had a faulty unit. They urged me to please NOT return it to the retailer, but rather to return it to them on an RMA, and they would ship me a replacement within 1-3 days of receiving it.

    I immediately printed out the label, filled out any forms and went to FedEx-Kinko's and shipped it away to Razer. A couple of days later I received a confirmation that they received the unit, and would prepare my replacement for shipping.

    That was the last update. And by that, what I mean to say, is I have had to contact their support department every couple of days for a status update, and I am always told that they have back-ordered parts, and that I need to wait. Again - they are always polite, and I am not bashing Razer, but this really has me worried.

    I just got off another support call a few minutes ago - this time via live chat. And again, I am told that things are back-ordered and I need to wait. What I find frustrating is that I had this laptop in my hands for all of an hour, and shipped it away the very day that I bought it. Now, its May 29, and I am even past my time limit for receiving a refund at the retailer, so I have no choice but to just sit and wait.

    Has anyone else ever had something like this happen with Razer, and should I be worried?
