So, the US 4th of July celebrations are coming up soon, for those of you who celebrate it what are your plans??

We are just going to do a family barbecue at my daughter's house, because she lives near a large undeveloped dirt lot so it's safer for fireworks, and we'll cook, hang out, play games together and then eventually do fireworks after dark. Oh, and I'd be remiss if I left out the drinks, we always have drinks. lol (at this point, my whole family and their significant others are 21+ except my 13 year old son)

For those of you who do not celebrate the 4th of July, do you have any plans for this weekend that you're really looking forward to?

Just going to someone in the family's house and doing fireworks. Nothing exciting.

I tryed to buy some things called "Californian Candles" which depicted them shooting out stars, so I assumed it was a roman candle like thing.

I was wrong, it was just a glorified road flare. Already gonna have a depressing 4th.

  4. This year probably not much celebrating.

So Likely plans would be just dinner w/ family. Siblings will be in so may play some video games or board games or try to catch up on a movie or so. And otherwise, it will be catching up on work, and lots of cleaning. Can't say it'll be very exciting, but should be productive.

@TheGurgeMan - I'm sure it's not what you really want to hear, but that story made me giggle to myself. :big_grin_:
Hopefully it does improve - maybe friends will bring better fireworks? hehehe

@Lost Dreamer - Well, as long as you're cleaning you can stop by my place too. LOL
While I was laid up and couldn't walk around the house for about two months things feel way, way behind. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye_:

I'm in the central valley of California where it the temperature highs are currently well into the triple digits so I'm planning on heading to the coast for the 4th, but luckily I have my new Razer blade so I won't miss any time playing Overwatch!

Nah, Virginia has se really strict rules about fireworks. As of now they are not allowed to sell.anything that leaves the ground, so there is only those showering fireworks for sale.

Yes, you are correct. The 4th of July is the American Independence day. Generally a fun holiday with cook-outs, family, fireworks, drinking and all around celebration. Honestly, it's not too different from New Years Eve in that regard, except that it lasts all day long. LOL

@Jenjar - in that case, Happy Canada Day! :)

What's the usual Canada tradition for Canada Day? It's my first time in Canada and I'll be here on the 1st. Wondering if there's any fireworks like for July 4th in the States or if it's totally different.

Everyone has Friday off, There are often a lot of public barbecue and events and sometimes there are fireworks, depends on how dry it is outside though.

If its to dry do they say you cant have them cause it could start a fire?
I wish I could visit Asia some day xD
Anyways seems like everyone has similar traditions. Turns out for me I actually have to babysit my cousins so rip.

Yeah, In some places in Canada it gets quite hot, And they may make you not have them or not have as many and in a less wooded and grassy area.
